Q: What is the only football or men's basketball program that OU had a losing record against during the Big XII's existence?
We were >.500 against everyone in FB, .500 against OSU and UT in BB, 4-14 against KU, >.500 against everyone else. This includes games FB CCGs and BB conference tournament games.
Bonus trivia, when playing in Big XII markets, OU is 17-5 in the NCAA tournament. This includes OKC, Tulsa, Austin, Dallas, KC and St. Louis (where we are 0-1, and I debated about including). We're 20-21 elsewhere. Please keep in mind I was on my second martini while typing this and counting on my fingers using Wikipedia as a source, so my apolgies if I screwed up.
I'm sure this is a combination of 1) home court advantage 2) randomness, and 3) spurious correlation (good teams play close to home and good teams win more regardless of site). However, I do find this interesting, and it makes me wonder how much of UNC and Duke's tournament success might be attributable to playing in Greensboro and Raleigh (seemingly) every damn year on the first weekend.
