This is the fourth time in his tenure here that Jeff Capel has had a losing streak of five or more games.

Before he arrived, our last five-game losing streak was in 1991 when we lost six in a row during one conference stretch.

Fail.

"This is the fourth time in his tenure here that Jeff Capel has had a losing streak of five or more games."

At least the basketball program is developing some consistency.

That's the spirit! You can't fool me. I know there's a pony in here somewhere.

That stat also points out that Sampson never had a 5 game losing streak at OU, which I didn't realize.

12 years, never lost 5 straight games.

Thats unbelievable, considering Jeff has done it a bunch.

That is one of the things I never understood about Sampson and OU fans. He had done a great job but still had a large group of fans that did not like him.

I remember during the 2005 season (I think it was 2005) where we won like four games in a row by 1 point and people were calling into the radio bashing the team for winning by that margin.

LOL

And now we have a large portion of the fanbase that settles for mediocrity (Capel). Wow, the times, they are a'changing.

The case just keeps getting harder and harder for Capel. Just look at the offensive scoring averages the in his 5 years.

65, 65, 77, 67, 64

Look at how many points we've allowed

64, 66, 70, 75, 71

That's 3 times Jeff Capel's teams have gotten outscored, unless we have something extreme happen and win in blowouts every game the rest of the year.

Kelvin Sampson's teams only got outscored once over his 12 years. 2003-2004 team that basically had an entire team injured or kicked off.

Billy Tubbs teams only got outscored 4 times in 14 years and once by 1 point(1981-82)

It was 2006. Sampson's last four wins as coach at Oklahoma were by one point.

He closed out his career with a loss to Texas in Austin, a loss to Nebraska in Dallas and a loss to Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Jacksonville.

Good job 04. I was at the kansas state home game where we won. People were leaving on the last posession....

I'll never forget that one point win in Bedlam. Kevin Bookout caught the ball on a fast break, took about 10 steps without dribbling, and dunked it home. OSU fans were livid that the refs didn't call traveling, but I say it makes up for the 2003 game in Stillwater where Victor Williams' game winner counted even though the shot clock had expired before he released the ball.

Since when does Capel's tenure qualify as mediocrity. He has had one great season, one good season, and three seasons of pure suckitude. Most of us our willing to forgive his first year because Damion James, Scottie Reynolds, and Jeremy Mayfield proved to be total sacks of ****. I'm pretty pleased that two of those three didn't make the NBA.
