I wanted to compare this year's team with last year's team, from a statistical plus/minus perspective.

This year's team, through 11 games:
Code:
Player SPM	MPG	Contribution
Tony Crocker 7.1	33.4	5.8
Willie Warren 4.3	29.4	3.1
Cade Davis 4.4	28.1	3.0
Tiny Gallon 3.7	24.3	2.2
Steven Pledger 1.0	21.3	0.5
Kyle Hardrick -0.5	0.3	0.0
Beau Gerber -17.7	0.4	-0.2
T.J. Franklin -20.7	0.8	-0.4
Orlando Allen -6.1	4.2	-0.6
Ray Willis -11.9	2.5	-0.7
Andrew Fitzgerald	-5.0	8.4	-1.0
Ryan Wright -2.6	16.2	-1.0
Tommy Mason-Griffin	-1.6	33.4	-1.3
Last year's team, through 36 games:
Code:
Player SPM	MPG	Contribution
Blake Griffin	14.57	32.3	11.7
Austin Johnson	5.92	31.2	4.6
Taylor Griffin	5.61	29.9	4.2
Willie Warren	5.35	31.2	4.2
Cade Davis	5.16	14.1	1.8
Tony Crocker	2.17	28.8	1.6
Beau Gerber	-0.39	0.7	0.0
Ray Willis	-0.32	2.8	0.0
Kyle Cannon	-1.95	1.7	-0.1
Omar Leary	-0.57	9.5	-0.1
Juan Pattillo	-1.30	7.5	-0.2
Orlando Allen	-4.72	2.4	-0.3
T.J. Franklin	-23.55	0.8	-0.4
Ryan Wright	-3.71	7.2	-0.7
(Contribution is in point margin per 100 team possessions.)

Tony has gone from 6th-best to undisputed leader. He has gone from solid role-player to All-Big XII. Honestly, he is playing as well as any SG/SF did last year in the Big XII. His contribution number is up there with Higgins, Anderson, and Carter from last year.

Willie, though, has fallen off. He is inefficient with the ball and lackadaisical off it. His numbers reflect it. He needs to be as good as Tony for this team to have a chance.

Cade has elevated his game--while not doing much more per minute, he is doing the same things in twice the minutes (which isn't easy to do).

What's going on? OU lost their 3 best players, meaning Capel has to give minutes to players that aren't playing even above average NCAA ball yet. OU is playing a game similar to OSU last year with 4 guards, but OSU had 3 guards with contributions of 6.0 per game, and the fourth at 3.7. OU doesn't have any quality depth right now.

Who will step up? TMG will likely break into the positive this year, but that won't be enough. The post has to step up; Tiny has to make strides, and Willie has to play good basketball. He needs to elevate above Tony Crocker, but I don't think he can with the mentality he has been showing.

Sheesh. That Blake Griffin guy was pretty good. I wonder if there were any other players in the nation that put up 11.7

Code:
Player SPM	Contribution
Stephen Curry 18.05	14.78
Lester Hudson 14.67	13.10
James Harden 13.53	11.93
Blake Griffin 14.57	11.75
DeJuan Blair 16.79	11.13
Eric Maynor 11.95	10.52
Terrence Williams	12.19	10.39
Ty Lawson 15.02	10.31
Toney Douglas 10.93	9.90
Talor Battle 10.35	9.58

Curry and Hudson had such high numbers because they took like half of their teams' shots, and shot well!
