Does this help in landing Terrence Jones? Perhaps if Ross commits to OU, what better position would there be for Terrence to jump into? Capel has proven to develop his guys and put them in the NBA and now has a lot of minutes to give. Obviously it's wishful thinking but at some point there's no denying the impact Blake Griffin had under Capel and where he's at now despite being injured thus far in the NBA. We'll have to wait and see.

That rationale didn't work with Aziz or Marquise Carter, unfortunately.

TMG and WW leaving opened up huge minutes at point guard and they struck out on Marquise Carter and the kid who just committed to K-State. You would think those guys would love a situation like OU.

I have no faith in them landing Terrence Jones right now.

Well how much of losing out on our latest recruits had to do with all the uncertainty? For a while there it didn't even look like Capel being here was a lock. It seems though now it appears the only thing in doubt is the NCAA investigation w/Gallon but most likely that was done without Capel's knowledge of it. Things could look a lot better in Norman to recruits now.

I'm a crimson colored glasses wearing, never say die, always upbeat guy when it comes to Sooner Sports, but, what in God's name would posess you to believe something good would happen to our basketball program right now?

Things don't look good I admit. What I'm holding out hope for is that with TMG, WW, and Gallon gone, maybe Jones, Ross, and a surprise PG come aboard. With Cam Clark, TJ, and Neal already committed and a barrage of minutes up for grabs it could prove to be a wise decision to come to OU.

Has anybody seen 3 players declare for the nba draft after the team finishes below .500? Unbelievable!!

add to that an 8-5 football team with 3 of the top 4 picks and 4 first rounders.

what a weird freaking year.

OU really needs a deus ex machina bailout here, landing Jones, Ross and a PG would certainly fall in that category.

Terrence Jones is a possible one and done. I just don't see how going to OU happens because of that. It would be a huge gamble for Jones. Even with him OU has little chance of making a run. And long-term I'm not sure another one and done is what this team needs for next year. I think this team needs some building blocks for 2 years down the road to get things turned around.

I agree.

In fact, if Capel is working so hard to get Jones, you have to wonder if Capel isn't hoping for a 1 year turnaround so he can bolt somewhere else. At this point, I wouldn't care if he left, but the state of the program would be even worse than it is now. We don't need any 1 year band-aid's.
