DJ Magley (6'10'' 250) transferred from WKU because he wants to play in a more post oriented system. He played in 34 games for WKU last year and averaged 2.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Under a different coach he started 34 games for WKU as a true freshman and averaged 5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

He will sit out a year and then compete for the spot left by returning center Jerome Jordan. This is a big get for Tulsa, as they know they are getting someone that can play right away after Jerome Jordan leaves.

High School: Started and lettered all four years at Bradenton Christian School ... Left school as the school’s all-time scoring (1,815), rebounding (1,269), assists (416) and blocks record holder ... Recorded averages of 24.9 points, 14.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists per contest in earning first-team NCCAA All-America and all-state honors following his senior season ... Also was selected the Florida Gulf Coast and Manatee County Player of the Year. Chose WKU over Purdue, Valpo, and SMU. OU also came in late but I am not if OU offered him or not, but his bio claims that OU did offer him.

OU actually recruited him Early, but backed off. Good recruit for Tulsa.

Agreed.... This solidifies their roster for 2010-2011. They have a very solid starting 5 after Uzoh and Jordan are gone, and can build around Medder and Pope for the next 4 years. They still have Hurtt, Magley, Andrews, Battle, Idlet, and Richard for role players the next 3 years too.

PG: Donte Medder (6'1'' 190)- Rated #14 point guard nationally by ESPN, where he also received a recruiting grade of 90. Medder averaged 22.6 points, 5.0 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 steals as a senior. He shot 47-percent from the field and 35-percent from three-point range. He is a very fluid athlete and has excellent quickness and speed with the ball. Defensively, he has very long arms and quick hands and possesses all the intangibles to be an elite defender down the road.

SG: Justin Hurtt (6'4'' 195)- Averaged 12 points and 2.9 rebounds per game and shot 40% from the 3pt line, and 90% from the foul line as a sophomore.

SF: Bryson Pope (6'6'' 205)- Tulsa World State Player of the Year. Super Five team by the Daily Oklahoman. Frontier Conference MVP. Tournament of Champions MVP. "Bryson is versatile enough to guard four positions on the floor," Coach Martin explained. "I can see him playing the 2, the 3 and even the 4 position, in a four guard lineup. He's a tremendous athlete who can attack the rim at any time. He is great off the dribble and getting by people."-Clay Martin

PF: Joe Richard (6'7'' 230)- -Outstanding athlete with loads of potential. Started 10 games for Tulsa as a true freshman, and is a likely starter this year as a sophomore. San Andreas League MVP honors for two straight years. averaged 14.5 points, 15.9 rebounds and 5.3 blocked shots his senior season . . . was named the Sun Times Player of the Year and the Press-Enterprise 2008 San Bernardino-area Player of the Year as a senior.
