I'd say the NCAA gumshoes would have pummeled our program within a couple of years. But I think, much like Notre Dame football, they won't touch the sacred UNC program. UT football is yet another "sacred cow" to them.

If nothing else, it shouldn't have all dragged on this long. I think the infractions folks are almost hoping it'll go away.

NCAA wasn't expecting UNC to appeal, and because it's academics, it's harder to prove/punish. It sucks because of the scope of the **** UNC did, but that's the reality. They don't have a recruit who they can grant immunity to get info. Instead, they have to rely on a professor from the school and figure out a way to get proof.

You're living in the past with your sentiments about the NCAA. The NCAA is toothless, and everyone knows it. The schools are the ones driving the revenue, and the NCAA is a zero value-add that knows it can and should get cut out of the equation any day now. They don't have the power to do anything to any school that is driving revenue.

i agree.....and by "school" you mean a mix of population density, in some cases tradition, and fan base (both casual and national)......which all means "advertising revenue". fannies in front of tv's.

school is just a code word for "brand". imho.

all the conference re-alignment(s) are out-products of this logic.

selling audiences to advertisers for the almighty "TV Contract".
