This is the first team I have seen in years that is actually playing uptempo. I give Gabbi credit for that. She is almost always in a hurry to advance the ball downcourt and she is setting the tone for the rest if the team. I just hope we don't back off at all as the competition improves. It makes it very difficult for a team to make a comeback in a game if you are running their butts in the ground.

The men's team allowed Creighten to make an 18 point comeback to win the other night. I don't believe that would have happened if OU would have turned up the pressure and constantly pushed the ball. When you have an opponent in trouble, you never want to back off but rather run them in the ground and take away their will to fight.

Together with a turned up defensive pressure a turned up offensive aggression would have absolutely put a stop to that comeback.

The men's team doesn't have the depth they need to play pressure defense the whole game. We looked gassed when Creighton was making their comeback. They were not even getting those shots in the first half. We just weren't covering as well.

The up tempo style of play really suits this team well. One minor concern I see is the kids are missing wide open opportunities in the post. That will correct itself as Gabi, Peyton, Maddie, and others let the game come to them and they get more comfortable with their team mates. This is becoming a very dangerous team. Their biggest weakness, is them selves. They have a tendency to be a little too unselfish. It's okay to take the open shot in the lane, don't over pass. I think this too will take care of it self as the kids move on in the season and can watch film of where their team mates position them selves. This coming week will be a good test to see where the girls stand with the rest of the Division I basket ball world.
