I've caught a few of these games. The USA plays Japan for the championship at 1PM central time on Sunday.

It's interesting that they have a 20 second 'shot clock', for lack of a better term. The clock starts when the catcher gets the ball and the pitcher has 20 seconds to throw her pitch.

Is this going to be adopted by the NCAA? Thoughts????

A clock for batters to get in the box would be helpful.

I had assumed the 20 second limit was to insure that the pitcher didn't take too much time between pitches but I guess it would stop batters from stepping out of the batters box for too long, too.

“G” is (was) on the PR roster.

Gold Medal game on now - ESPN with Japan on top 1-0
Going to the BO 4th

USA wins with 2 in bottom of the 6th and Monica Abbott relieving in the 7th for 2-1 win. Japan 2 hits and USA 8 hits. USA left 9 runners on base.
