Timing is everything. Lon is 63 years-old and is staying at OU as long as he wants. He did seem to be a vagabond, but his longest coaching stay was at UNLV where he said he planned to retire. Credit to Joe C. for being persistent and getting the right man for the job.
 
If OU can win the championship, I think this hire ranks up there with the hiring of Bob stoops.

Especially considering how hard Joe had to work to get Lon here
