grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

the lack of halfcourt execution has just killed OKC this season. we can't close out games if Russell or Kevin can't knock down jumpers - because that's basically all we do now. GOT to change.

At least 3 of OKC's losses are directly attributable to this failing in the final few minutes.

Having Tony Parker doesn't hurt.

Or Duncan. Or Manu. Or Pop. :woot

Tony Parker most certainly. IMO he puts SA over OKC. He's playing at a very high level. But they also play well together ... their movement is well-orchestrated. That makes him look even better.

Same thing everyone said during the regualr season last year. SA is basically the same team, IMO. The key will be how OKC plays in the playoffs with their bench struggling. I believe OKC will tighten up their defense, and that is what beat SA last yr. I don't believe SA can beat OKC in a series when it counts......

I dont believe OKC can beat SA this year. I hope they can, but I dont see it.

I still crack up when people say the thunder are just a jump shooting team. I didn't realize layups and drives to the paint were jump shots.

Nope, no way in hell that the thunder could beat te spurs this year. Too bad they haven't played twice already this year...

Last year, Parker was playing like an MVP candidate, and they were steamrolling through their schedule even more than they are now. It's a tougher matchup without Harden, but the Spurs have the same vulnerabilities. They can't count on Ginobili to be healthy and play at a consistently high level, especially not playing starter-level minutes, Parker wilted when the Thunder made Sefolosha his primary defender, and Duncan plays less than 35 minutes even in the playoffs...and all of those guys are a year older now.

Spurs-Thunder is a toss-up IMO, but I lean towards the Thunder if forced to make a pick. And I say all that as a Thunder fan that lost a couple hundred betting on San Antonio to win that series last summer. I didn't think they would beat the Spurs last year because I didn't think Brooks was going to make the necessary adjustments, but he eventually did to completely turn that series around.

my money was on SA last year too. not that I like them, but because they just seem to play better.

of course - "seeming to play better" is really not much of a factor when you think about matchups.
