We have a new verbal commitment

It is just unfortunate that OU can't recruit post players in the women's game anymore. OU has one year with Vivi left then the Sooners will be defending 6-7 and 6-5 with players that are barely 6-0.

As for Sherri, my biggest concern came last year during the halftime interview of the Baylor game. I distinctly remember her saying that the physicality of the game was not women's basketball. However, the game has gone in that direction and is NOT going back. You have to recruit the players to compete and unfortunately I don't think it is happening. I am worried.

Instead of Syb being "forced" to put people on ignore for people simply stating their thoughts and opinions, maybe we should all help him out and we all should just band members together and put him on ignore.

This board would be so much more pleasant if we didn't have to read his hate for everyone except the one person who probably wouldn't stand any closer to him than 1000 yards.

OU is still in on Madison Williams, who is only 5'11 but plays much bigger, and is pretty athletic, and Zipporah Broughton who is a 5'7 point guard... both kids would really elevate the program, but they are also small..

Uconn won a lot of games last year with a 6'1 power forward and a 5'11 center, I think Sherri has a plan.

Mac,
I don't want to sign non contributors just for the sake of having players over 6-1. But there's has to be some athletic height that Sherri can sign.

My number one theory is that Sherri has fallen into the same trap Bob had issues with.
Failure to react to the change in the recruiting calendar.
Everything has moved up about 12 months. Sherri's not offering early or working early enough with rising HS sophomores/juniors.
OU football had the same issue. It's taken about 3 years to finally resolve.

Actually we seldom know who Sherri is recruiting. So many commits are not the players we believe OU is after. And we don't hear a lot if anything about them until they commit.

I am also concerned about the bigs. EJ the only inside player projected after ViVi is gone. Scary.

I don't know if the game has passed by Sherri or not. We clearly have more good coaches and more athletic players out there in recent years. And she seems deeply committed to the 4 guard offense.

I have always been high on Llanusa and she may be OK as a 4 but that would probably be a waste of her talent, although in a 4 guard offense she would be all over the court just as Maddie is now.

I never understood why we did not go to a high post game with Mulkey. She had pretty good touch for her size and could have been trouble from 10-15 feet. I doubt that few would have been able to keep her from catching and shooting from that range. Would also have taken pressure off ViVi and made passers from the high post easier that our normal approach to getting her the ball.

Rbeam,
the entire college basketball world wants Amihere. She'd be a possible program changer for OU. Trae Young/Blake Griffin like.
Kennedy Brown also seems like an excellent center prospect.
Sadly both players are 2019 class, not 2018.

I've heard that Amihere see's herself as a wing, and not a post, I've also heard that she is one hell of a perimeter defender for her size 6'3...

I hope she would come to OU, but if Sherri is asking her to play in the post, she could look elsewhere. If Sherri tell's her she has a chance to play on the wing if she has the skills, then maybe she will look at OU, but our lack of post players could make her chances of playing wing very slim.

Mac,
She could be a program changer. Grab her anyway you can. Maybe Shaina beyond being a good looking PG prospect will give OU a shot. I've not seen anything concrete that indicates that they are anything beyond Canada teammates. Be nice if they were best friends.
Still hard to imagine Amihere not going to the Uconn/ND/ or someone like that.

I may be missing something but I have watched two of Canada's games and other than her heighth and athleticism I don't see a program changer there. She is really raw. Canada seemed to be dominated inside and on the boards.

I agree, at this point. I haven't seen any of these games. But, I did see the game between the US and Canada that had something to do with a border war games or something. It was a contest dominated by Rennia Davis of the US and Pellington of Canada. Davis won. Nobody could stop her inside. She was a forward who was so much better than what Canada had that she operated inside at her own will. Pellington dominated the guards. Supposedly, Hailey Brown was to be the inside force for Canada. She is a Michigan signee. She was inept. Amihere seems to be considered an athlete since someone says she can dunk.

In the referenced Borders Game, Amihere as a 2019 player was a on different team than the team Shaina was on.
I think one squad as under 17s and Shaina's team was u19s.

He's right. Stoops loyalty to staff that wasnt recruiting finally forced him to replace them. We're still working out from under that hiatus. It takes a while.

Between Oklahoma and Kansas. 2019-2022 will say if Coale has it. Grabby Gregory, Kennedy Brown, Katelyn Levings, Peyton Andrews, Dani Winslow, Taylen Collins, Trinity Gooden, Rylee Langerman, and maybe Prechtel from Colorado

There are probably 5 or so more major D1 talents in Oklahoma in the 2020 & 2021 classes. Multiple kids already have offers from schools like OSU & Tulsa and are expecting more soon. Aaliyah Moore from Moore, OK is a class of 2021 and already has an offer from OSU with schools like UCLA and Notre Dame showing major interest. I have heard that OU has started to show interest lately in her as well.

Amihere looks she can be a star... I hope she picks OU.

What class is she? 2019? What are the odds she will choose OU? Has she stated anywhere that she is interested? I love that she's not that tall/big, yet is aggressive in her movement to the basket and rebounding like she is bigger, that's what our girls really need! I hope Simpson and Llanusa are like that!

Amihere is class of 2019, she hasn't shown any interest in OU, but the Sooner do follow her on Twitter...

If she does decide to head to college, I'm sure Uconn will be looking at her, and I hear South Carolina is recruiting her as well...
