I was wondering what we will see from the team next Monday during the opening exhibition? Hoping we get some guesses from our many informed members.
I think we will see the same starting line-up as we had during the scrimmage-Shaina, Ana, Mandy, jessi, and Madi. Tatum and Nydia more or less competing with Jessi and Madi for starting spots. (Hope Madi Williams is over whatever minor ailment she had and is more mobile). EJ and Penzo spot duty as back-ups, Penzo for her great leadership, and EJ for defense, and possibly her improvement. Taylor in a lot for shooting expertise. Claya and Aspen working for playing time.
Am I anywhere close? What do you think?

I expect little to be revealed. I think Sherri will reward those who have practiced well, worked the hardest. I thought her remarks at the Big Twelve media days were very interesting in what they didn't say.

I get the feeling that she has only made up her mind about three players: Madi, Ana, and Shaina. She knows where they will fit and why. I suspect that Madie is about as close to a four as we will have. I suspect Ana is a 3. Shaina is a slider: 1 and 2.

Despite the fact that Mandy is and was a starter, I just don't see it. I do, for now. She must be a lot more aggressive than she was in order to be a 4. She was here to be a Joanna type 4, go to the boards. She may start now due to effort.

For some reason, Sherri seemed to be selling what EJ could do. She can. But, she never has. She has shown moments. All we need is a defender who rebounds and can put back a layup on an offensive board. We have our offensive people other than posts.

Nydia seemed to get more love from Coltan's remarks than from Sherri. He said she was the second fastest on the team. Sherri barely mentioned her. I have no feel.

I get the feeling that Sherri does love Tatum and Jesse. She also remarked that Taylor may be the best shooter we have had for a while. Are these starters or spot players?

We saw Penzo start last year when our guards didn't know what to do. It's not like our guards are seasoned this year. I think we see even more of Penzo. Penzo may not have foot-speed, but her hands tend to be everywhere.

I think we may see the lineup you describe on Monday. By January, I think we will likely see, in this order:

Shaina
Madi
Ana
Tatum
EJ
Jesse
Penzo
Nydia
Taylor
Mandy

By May:
Shaina---Madi----Ana---Nydia---Tatum (at 20-30 mpg)
EJ---Penzo---Taylor---Jesse---Mandy

I expect these to average at least ten minutes per game.

I agree we won’t learn a lot in the exhibition. I did notice OSU played them already and won 70-37, but only led by 18 going into Q4. I would expect Sheri to play everyone at least 10 minutes and let all the freshman begin to get comfortable. We will have a huge advantage of D1 athletes vs D2 athletes. I would expect Shaina and Ana to dominate while they are in. I am interested to see Shaina’s shot in a game setting and how we look at PG with 2 freshman. Also should be a good game for Madison to show her athleticism.

Last year, OU was #202 in the NCAA in free throw shooting, and our two best (Gabbi and Maddie) are gone. Point to watch for. Has anyone practiced free throws?

Last year, we were also rated extremely low in FG% defense.

Gray got to the line a lot, she could end up being a good one...

Yeah I saw that gray transfer to OSU, very frustrating because I feel like she was one of our big targets for her class. I hate that she went to OSU but it could have something to do with the fact that her sister went with her and maybe we were not able to accommodate her sister as well... OSU be tough again this year with their returning starting freshman guard, Gray and the incoming freshmen post, along with a couple season guards I wouldn't underestimate them. Our exhibition game against UCO last year was not a complete blowout, in fact we only won by 20, which made me a little nervous for the season, with good reason... I think we'll learn a little bit about how we are Monday, probably not a whole lot.

Actually, OSU didn't look very good after watching the game. They are going to struggle to score points. Not very athletic--They will be fighting Tech and Kansas for last place in conference.

Really? I would be surprised by that. It's a bit early to make declarations like that in my opinion anyway, not that I'm a Oklahoma State supporter hehe. As long as we don't end up at the bottom of the conference!

okay I take my previous comment back. Looks like Oklahoma State beat Northeastern by little over 30 points and we beat them by 74, they may in fact have a very rough season!
