While on the Mind Stimulator in my Chamber of Thought (commode, bathroom :)), a question arose. And this is the perfect year to pose the question.

During football season, OU lost to their most heated rival, :fexas-logo:, but qualified for the playoffs.

During basketball season, OU was swept by, dare I say, their most heated basketball rival, kansas. But now has made it to the Final Four.

Many times fans, donors, etc., say, "I hate :fexas-logo: so much, I'd rather go 1-11 and beat :fexas-logo:" or, "I hate kansas so much, I'd rather go 2-23 but beat kansas for those two wins."

Now that OU has lost twice to kansas in the regular season and lost both the regular season and conference tournament championships but have won their way to the Final Four, what is everyone's preference?

Final four and not even close!!!!! but KU is a rival but I don't think a hated rival same as Nebraska in the football Big 8.

Final Four all the way! I watched the game in Charlotte with about 30-35 OU fans yesterday. Lots of cheers, screams, high-fives and hugs afterwards. It's not likely any of us will forget those two hours in our lifetime. I seriously doubt there would have been that much euphoria for winning any type of regular season game or conference tournament.

Pretty sure Kansas is not thinking we beat OU twice this year now that they are out of it.

One game, or two, doesn't define a season. Neither does getting to the final 4. But championships matter. And success is determined by how the team plays all season long, not in 1 game in Dallas, 1 game in Anaheim, or 2 games vs Kansas.

This was already a very good season. Making the final 4 makes it a great season. And the team can add to their success by playing well next weekend. And losing twice to Kansas is irrelevant right now.

heated rival maybe Nebraska....not hated. in the Big 8 days, we respected Nebraska and hated Texas.

Kansas is a rival because they beat us most of the time...and the 1988.....there is no such thing in football. our record against USC or Notre Dame is lousy but we don't play them every year.

i think i speak for a lot of Sooners when i say i have nothing but respect for the Bugeaters under Dr. Tom in my years coming up.

It's always about the end game. Losing to Texas is what turned the football team around. Hurts for a week, but I'll take it. No one remembers the regular season, well maybe that game in Lawrence, but they remember who was there at the end.
