Will Jennings' Recruiting Big Board

Sam, I have been an outspoken cheerleader for Grooms. But, I'm under no illusion that he is the ultimate answer. I'm thinking that even if he works out OK for a couple of years, they need to sign a point next year. Any prospects?

Do you mean as in the class of 2012?

Nationally the class of 2012 is one of the weakest classes to find a point in recent years. I think Kansas wants a point and with A&M likely hiring J-Mychal Reese's dad even they're going to be scrambling a bit.

The best option would be just down I-35 a ways with Nino Jackson but um, I have no idea whats his status is academically in high school. Heard a lot of different rumors on Nino and most aren't good. I know he told Newsok he would be back at Ardmore but I'm not sold on that.

Little Phil Forte out of Flower Mound Marcus is an option but he seems to be more of a fit at a San Francisco or Boise St.

Unless OU finds a gem in the juco ranks I dont see OU taking a point guard in 2012.

In 2013 I believe the top point guard option will be Jordan Woodard and then they go from there (dont discount Stevie Clark, who has started showing more distributing skills recently).

Great stuff guys.

Of the these three big men -- Cauley, Waverly and Ibeh -- who do you think is atop of the staff's wish list? What kind of offers do Cauley and Ibeh have at this point?

Or would they just take the first to commit and call it a day on big men?

cauley recently named a top 5 of kstate, osu, alabama, florida and kentucky (in no order). as far as i know he doesn't have offers from uk or uf yet. i also would not regard that list as very stable or even necessarily accurate. cauley is an interesting personality.

ibeh i haven't followed much, but a&m seems to be making him a priority.

Pardon my ignorance, but how many schollies will we have to offer for the '12 class? And I understand that could change with potential NCAA fallout with the Tiny situation.

I'll take my answer off the air. Thanks. ;)

As of today, it's three. Should Rotnei Clarke jump aboard, it would then be two.

Yep. Also a possiblility of the NCAA taking one away, and any possible transfers.

I'd like to get Smart, Clarke, and one of the bigs.

If not Smart, then one of those other good SG prospects (Hornbeak, Morgan, Hield).

Then the 2013 class becomes make or break. We need to bring in the "right" guys in that class.

Wouldn't shock me to see Newell leave either, after this year.

I think its a high possibility OU loses one due to the NCAA, meaning if OU takes Rotnei they will be down to one current one ship.

This is good stuff fellas. Thanks.

Will or Sam -

Who do you compare Waverly’s game to?

I'll back off a little from previous concerns re rotnei. Just Feel like James Woodard offers so much more in terms of defense distribution and four years of production. I have seen James and niño personally at least a dozen times each over the past three years. Nino was clearly the better player after their freshman and less so after their sophomore years but James has surpassed him ON THE COURT, not even weighing potential off the court issues. The fact that he continues to improve makes him more attractive IMO. As for Clarke, we have to give up two years of scholarship for one year of specialized one dimensional productivity. Give me Woodard.

Recently got off the phone Buddy Hield and Quannas White ex Sooner great and Malik Morgan's AAU coach. OU is in really good shape with Hield.

White raved about Morgan and called him a more all around version of his good friend and ex OU teammate Ebi Ere.

Great info on Malik Morgan.

The coach seems to want Morgan to stay close to home.

That is good news on Hield, and high praise from Quannas about Morgan. Ere was a really great player.

Scratch Clarke off the board. Still some good targets on Will's big board.
