Wiseman Leaves Memphis

Both statements are true. Makes sense for him. And the rule sucks, kids should be able to go right out of high school.

And kids who are delusional enough to think they will be drafted right out of high school but aren't drafted shouldn't be punished by the NCAA.

I can't see keeping anyone from trying to make a living..

Lol, the only reason Penny got that job is because he guaranteed he could get Wiseman.

They can go to the G-League or Overseas.

Only a few kids in high school can help NBA teams. So a team develops a kid for 3-4 years and he's finally able to contribute but his contract is up and goes to another team.

There are a number of kids every year who could contribute in the NBA right now, including this kid. One and done is a joke, and is blatantly anti-competitive. Let these kids go get paid instead of pawning off your development needs on the NCAA.

They can go get paid. You realize this is an NBA rule, not NCAA?

They can leave the country, or they can take a ridiculously artificially deflated G league salary. Those are their options to get paid. NBA has a monopoly on professional basketball. We don't like those in America, unless they're professional sports leagues.

They can sign endorsement deals in the G league which would make them millionaires.

I've always thought baseball offered the best alternative for athletes and universities. If a kid wants to go after high school, he should be able to go. But if he signs with a school, he should have to stay. Maybe for basketball, it should be two years.

One and done is a joke. A kid could enroll like 9 hours the first semester, and never attend school the second semester and go pro after the season. That is not a "student-athlete".
