For OU fans in general, the word "illogical" can mean many things. Clamoring to join the SEC is something I consider illogical. Hating on certain former New Mexico-bred QB's is another. And I remember once seeing someone post on an OU men's site that it's "better to have one good NCAA run and go to four NIT's," than going to five straight NCAA tournaments.

And of course, the notion of "rooting for OSU because they're from the state" is the prime definition of illogical in the OU fan base. That's even worse than "rooting for the conference," which one of my brother's best buds harps about (a guy from the KC area who's drunk the KC media's koolaide one time too many). And it's in every college sport where I find it complete illogical to hope that various OU coaches will bend rules or ethics just to get the "five-stars."

But as far as OU women's basketball discussions go, my main uses of the word illogical concern (A) reading more affection for certain other programs in the region, including a certain one in Wacko, Texas, and (B) reading horrific, mean spirited posts from people who never show up unless OU loses. My mind is middle-aged (59th birthday is in 6 months), but it still can't comprehend treating what is a bitter rival with such "love", while trashing your own team to the extent that I've seen.

And I don't think it's illogical to object to the notion that "going negative" is a sign of an "objective" fan. I think that's more of a "glass half-empty" mentality. The men's board on this site still has one Capel-die-hard who's also ripped Lon some over "recruiting rankings," and I'm pretty sure the same guy thinks Kelvin Sampson never really won a game at OU all those years. That's a big :facepalm :facepalm .

You nearly lost me early on, but you came on strong as your post continued. :ez-laugh:

I give it a +3.
