#10 OU at #23 Alabama 3pm 2/15

You just can't beat any team in this league, especially on the road, if you don't play with discipline. We decided that we could drop our level of play whenever we had a lead, which is mainly a lack of focus, and you can't do that in this league especially against the ranked opponent. If you want to win some games against ranked opponents you have to play well the entire game and not decide to half ass it in one quarter
They made their run while Peyton was getting treatment on her ankle. That had more to do with Alabama making their run than anything else

Lofton just got almost all her minutes today….very solid effort for Lofton…growing as a player and her athleticism is starting to show
Lofton has got more minutes than Smith tle last 3 or 4 games. Been playing with a lot of confidence.

Think we’ll have to find minutes for Smith too. Need to keep her in a uniform. Although, I’m very proud to see Lofton gaining confidence.

I noticed in the last game that she was wearing a splint on one of her fingers. I don't know if that could be why she had fewer minutes or maybe Lofton took a few of her minutes.
She’s had that on for several games now. Jammed thumb they said during one game.

A couple of really boneheaded TO’s in the last minutes but thankfully bama didn’t take advantage.

Good win. I can’t Look at that Alabama Coach’s face again. She’s very unlikable. Biggest thing I see is Reagan having 7 turnovers and Sahara 4. I expect the younger ones to have one or two, but the vets need to clean it up. Those were careless too.
Ya… not sure how she got a “review”… twice and coach had to appeal the out of bounds… foul vs possession?

Up by 8 with 25 seconds. Thank goodness for Chavez and her one-on-one abilities. She scored our last nine points.
Verhulst has played great and I also think lofton has played well and within herself. She should be getting more minutes especially defensively.
I remember the coach saying she needed more from the bench offensively. Maybe she realized a really good defensive player equals points lost for opponents. Or she needed Lofton to be more aggressive offensively like she is starting to show. Vann is clearly trying to stay out of foul trouble, which they need. Lofton is a more disciplined defender, and she can sub in 1-4 if needed, depending on who is hot offensively in the moment. Biggest concern is Verhulst and her ankle. We know those be brutal to treat and heal without rest and they don’t have that opportunity. She’s taken the leadership role we were lacking and I was very impressed with Chavez moving the ball and moving for good shots. Limited unnecessary turnovers and I think they’re coming together at a good time.

More than a few soonerinkc. But, give the ladies credit they found a way to win. Hard to watch at times, but i think we are just going to have to live with some silly plays by the freshmen.

My player of the game was Peyton. I thought she kept us together and also played well herself.

Smith can be really good, but she needs to know what she is and what her limitations are. Really like the 3 freshmen (loftin, chavez and Stewart), and both sophomores (smith and Van). Rea;;u good foundation. Need a big to replace Beers next year and I think we will be in business.

Beers had 7 turnovers and Williams 4. Freshmen had 5 total.
Replacing Beers must be the biggest goal. And I would love an experienced guard to replace Verhulst. They will be very young next year without one.

Virtually every offensive foul by Beers is due to the use of her arms. Just quit. those are legit fouls. Absolutely doesn't need to use them. She has a large body and butt and should be using them to gain and hold position. You can't hold people off of your sides with raised arms above the shoulder and she doesn't need to do that. Just quit and she could be playing more minutes.

Outside of the above issue, I think she is playing great. We are a lot better when she is in the game.

I don't believe those two reviews involving Reagan were justified at all. Did Reagan and the Bama big have contact on those plays? Yes, but the girl was draped all over Reagan, who was only making a normal basketball play, and the contact was clearly incidental. And from what I witnessed on the replays, while there was indeed contact, the Bama player deserved the academy award for the acting job she performed. JMHO

Agree with this. Acting was Oscar worthy for them.

Oh I agree 100%… was just saying the bama coached asked for ac”review” vs appeal… didn’t know why coach didn’t get the same favor
