#10 OU at #4 Texas 2pm 2/1

UT is a 15-point favorite but I hope it's much closer than that. I hope JB prepared the girls for the physicality of UT's defense and that they don't try to rush things, which could lead to an abundance of TOs. Hope we play like a team and show how tough we can be just as we did against South carolina. And prove that that win against SC was just not an anomaly!

I don't understand why our girls are passing it to nobody. It's like they hesitate thinking "no this is not a good pass," but then they think again "yeah I'll just do it anyway!"
Texas ends the quarter on a 7-0 run. Chavez has been forcing it as expected Sahara has taken some horrible outside shots and we look like we didn't prepare for pressure defense. I hope this one doesn't get ugly. They just have more talent than we do and they are consistently making better plays. We just aren't there yet

And I just hope they have fight in them and don't let themselves get whooped by 30 or 40 and become an embarrassment that loses any kind of momentum in the national seedings/rankings

How is Lofton this bad at shooting free throws? I've seen her miss both free throws multiple times. She doesn't have a jump shot or an outside shot either so how was she rated so highly as a recruit, and why do we recruit players like this? Same thing with Caya Smith except she's gotten a little better. When we get players like this that don't have offensive skills and face teams like Texas it's just never going to be competitive.

Ugly start to the game. I sure hope we play better coming out of Halftime.

Brooklyn Stewart 6 rebounds in 9mins. She is FIGHTING for the rebounds! I love to see a Freshman getting messy on the boards.
Also Keziah Lofton was a spark off the bench as well.

My God they have a seven-point lead and within 20 seconds of our sloppy play it turns into a 13-point lead for them. Harmon is literally falling out of bounds throwing the ball to no one we have three girls standing there watching it happen lackadaisically and one of their players cuts in out of nowhere and scores. We are just not locked in. Now they are pulling away.

I can see the difference between a legitimate final four team and us when I watch games like this. We just watch other players on other teams want it more. They are crashing the boards, falling to the floor, jumping out of bounds and we are just standing around not doing anything. They're just more aggressive and want it more.

This game is proof OU is not nearly good enough to compete regularly with the big guns. It took South Carolina playing maybe its worst game in years for OU to win in OT.

OU isn't athletic enough. Beers is good, but a weakness against good teams who are athletic.

JB doesn't seem to recruit big, either.

IMHO you couldn't be more wrong about Caya Smith she's an excellent shooter and has made multiple 3's she's shooting 52% from the field overall, 41% for 3, and
62% ft which isn't great but except for Chavez no one on our team is great from the line.

We did not play well.........Texas played great..........their fans were exuberant............Started off bad........difficult to come back but we did not give up...
unnecessary turnovers and our free throw percentage shooting needs to improve to beat teams at this level.............still saw good things.........Lofton guarded well, Decker made some difficult shots underneath, plus got away to the basket............Chavez just could not get open...do not know if there was something the team could have done to help..................Texas is just a really good team and they were on their home court with a great crowd..........I believe we will get better........have hope
re Lofton's shooting.......she has not shot that many shots in games and it takes time to adjust to shooting at this level.......believe we can improve in all aspects, just hope we do
EDIT:: I mentioned that they did not give up but did not them specific credit for their second half play....in which they gave themselves a chance

We were pretty damn good -- dare I say final four-caliber -- in that 2nd half. It's very hard to dig out of a 21-point hole in an electric environment. Every single one of Jennie's previous teams at OU would have folded and lost by 30-40. This team took the punch and fought back.

Texas is elite defensively, and they took away the passing lanes to Beers AND open shots for Chavez, and it took us 20 minutes to figure out another option. Sucks that we were so poor offensively for the first half, but we definitely have the players to accomplish our goals this season. We just need to play well more consistently.

We just panicked under theTexas pressure in the first half and gave ourselves no chance. Played a lot better in the 2nd half but the hole was too big to ever really threaten Texas.

Some of you are way too hard on this team. They played their hearts out. Yes they lost but when you go and play a 4th ranked team at their place and lose by eight. I think you have done a good job. Texas like 23 at home straight wins. We have to find a way to get Chavez open to take good shots and not rush them. Boomer!!!

respectively disagree.....I believe the teams from the previous two years would have fought back, believe they actually did and won one or two....if not won, fought back as well as this team. Not dissing this team, am proud of how they never gave up and fought back to cut the deficit to 8.........and not saying which team of the three was the best.......couldn't attempt that now with the present team only having played through Feb 1st........who knows how much better they may get..........their progression will be fun to watch
