The ten second call on Woodard--I thought this was a case of the ref almost wanting to make this call and tried to anticipate it too much. I thought he crossed just in time.

I thought the same. Obviously, it's better Jordan doesn't cut it so close that the official has a chance to make the call, but I thought Woodard made it across.

I don't think it's when Woodard crosses the line. It is when the BALL crosses the line. I think that's what got him. From my vantage point in the nosebleeds, it certainly looked like Jordan was guilty. Don't know why he's prone to dillydack on those things.

I saw us win in GIA! God, I'm so thrilled!!

Since the referees don't seem to count anymore, I assum they go off the shot clock. For anyone who knows--when the shot clock hits 25, does that mean there is 25.0 seconds left or 25.9 seconds? Because if you have 25.9, you should have until the clock strikes 24, right?

Thought the same thing. Also was wondering what JK12 asked about 25/24 like the shot clock. But yeah, just show a little more hustle and don't give the ref a chance to call it.

Great win for the good guys.

That's how the NBA does it with their 8 second call, they wait til 15 seconds. Not sure why college doesn't follow suit.

Oh, he got across. I went back and replayed it. It's almost as if the ref wanted to call it. That is such a rare call, as a ref I would think you would want to be sure, and it be blatant. Some of these referees SMH. But Woodard cutting close so much, probably put it on the refs attention. But, doesn't change the fact he got across.. Kind of like in baseball, as a pitcher if you are wild you won't get borderline calls. That is stupid too. If it's a strike, call it, if it's not, don't. These examples are where the human element in officiating/refereeing/umpiring can drive you crazy. Basketball has so many other facets of the game that are extremely hard to officiate, but that one is easy. Make the right call!

Yes , both Woodard and the ball were clearly across the line ahead of 25 seconds. I posted the same in another thread before I saw this one. That absolutely was the worst call any official made all night.

He made it across before or, at worst, simultaneously.

If the refs not counting then he needs to look at the clock first until it hits :25 and immediately look to see where the player is @:25. He wanted to make that ten second call.

If there had been a full press on I could have understood it but to just lolly gag around every time like Woodard does is ridiculous. Don't give the official any reason to make that call. Every time he crosses mid court with 26-27 left on the shot clock. Not only is it tempting a 10 second call but it burns time we could be using to run our offense.
