1. Capel left the cupboard completely bare. I was wrong in expecting the guys he left to be an NCAA tournament caliber squad.

2. Kruger has shown nothing whatsoever to prove he's a better coach than Capel in any regard. Actually I would give Capel an advantage in coaching based on what we have seen from both.

Hatred I know still runs strong but we at least play D now bro.

1. Is correct.
2. Is beyond stupid.

I believe in the 3 guards that he has brought in , I just can't figure out what he is going to do with all the guards and no size inside

1. M'Baye is not a 3
2. M'Baye can not shoot the 3
3. M'Baye is not the great player that everyone made him out to be
4. Bringing Fitzgerald off the bench has killed his offense.
5. You can hate on Capel's recruits...but how can you praise Krugers...Arent and Bennett are on the end of the bench while Grooms can't score. Spangler wouldn't be playing on this Gonzaga squad, stamp a guarantee on that.
6. And if we can't make the tournament this season with Osby, Fitz and Pledger...who knows when we will be back

Ouch.

All the talk about mbaye was crap. He's not even close to a one and done. I'm not sure he'll ever play in the NBA. He may develop into a good player, but all the hype was BS, as it usually is.

First of all have you seen Spangler in a game
Second- Spangler would have been on the floor tonight for Gonzaga
Third - Spangler played 21 min. against WV in the second round of the NCAA Tourn and had the most rebounds between the 2 teams
Fourth- From what I know, Gonzaga did everything they could to keep Spangler
Fifth- They Redshirted Kelly Olnyks last year because Spangler was better.
Always make sure and get your facts straight before running off at the mouth

haha...Spangler is not better than Olynks. Spangler played in only 22 out of 33 games last season. There were 9 guys who averaged more minutes then him. He averaged 6mpg and and only 2ppg.

I won't continue to argue with an idiot because if I do people won't know who the idiot is.

His minutes would also be about the same since they added the other 7 footer Karnowski. B/c Harris, Dower, Olyks and Karnowski are better than him.

Kruger has already earned his stripes so you are right about that. However, I can understand some frustration with his presence at OU so far.

I have a hard time seeing the OU basketball ship being turned very fast without a niche/gimmick of some kind. Billy-ball and Kelvin-ball both provided styles that made teams uncomfortable (albeit in totally different ways) - that's what they were designed to do. They gave us more offensive rebounds, easier shots, tough one-and-done defense. This allowed us to pull a few upsets, start getting the attendance and winning at home, and start getting better players.

Kruger beat K-St twice last year so the possibility is there. I have nothing against his style if/when we have the talent. We currently play good D most of the time and get good shots a lot of the time. However, we don't put ourselves into positions for a lot of offensive rebounds, easy shots. or defensive one-and-done. We're not shooting well enough at the line either. Without those things superior talent usually wins out; potential fans stay home, and potential recruits go elsewhere.

I am just concerned about how long it will take us to start pulling some more upsets, consistently beat teams of equal talent, get better attendance, and get enough talent. He is at a big disadvantage right now because he has no home court advantage. I hope he can start turning it around before the patience runs out.

Here are some of the things I think about the Sooners this season:
• This is still November. It's a little unrealistic to expect much better than what we've seen so far.
• The defense is way ahead of the offense. I like their intensity and hustle on defense. The offense needs a lot of work.
• OU starts 2 true freshmen guards. College ball is a PG game and it's going to take them a while to adjust to the speed of the game. It's kind of like starting a true freshman at QB.
• In order to see how good they are, Kruger has to play the 3 freshman a lot over the next month. They will be a lot better players in a month.
• I still expect an 8 man rotation by the end of the season. Kruger is just experimenting with combinations now.
• Osby is the best player we have even if he's a little undersized. He is a warrior on the boards. If he were 2 inches taller, he would be NBA material. He's plenty good for the college game.
• Fitz is playing with a lot more hops this year. His offense will pick up soon.
• M'Baye doesn't have the rust off yet. He sat out last year and this is a step up in competition than he saw at Wyoming.
• You can't measure Kruger by last year's recruiting class. They got a late start and had to take some chances. Grooms was the best available PG they could get. He was better than Blair. Arent was a stretch for a last minute big man.
• M'Baye, Bennett, and Spangler will be a respectable post rotation next season.

I agree with others here that M'Baye needs to be a post.

There's a lot of overreaction to an early game against a really good team. We have a lot of new guys where it counts at guard. We just don't have enough leadership on the roster to make up for that. Say what others have said about seniors. We really have 2 leaders on the roster in Osby and Pledger. The rest of the roster just doesn't show much leadership on the court. Maybe Fitz or others have leadership skills in other areas but they don't make the plays on the court to show that they can turn things around if we are playing bad. We have a fairly young team in that regard.

:facepalm this happens every season after the 1st loss and many years after every loss. Any of you expecting this teams talent to be better than 19to21 wins need to check your meds and the same goes to those that think Lon isn't a good coach. It is November with a team using 3 freshmen as critical contributors.
