OU recruit Perry Ellis looks to avenge last year's loss to OU recruit Gavin Thurman as Ellis's Wichita Heights High School squad faces up wit Thurman's Wichita Southeast High School Squad. Both kids are having great years with Ellis averaging his usual double double, and Thurman averaging 21pts 8rb, and 5 asst. Ellis made noise recently by trimming his list to 6 schools including the University of Oklahoma. Thurman is the number one target for most Missouri Valley Conference programs and could be a viable backup option for OU if they miss out on Ellis.

Gametime is set for 7:45 Saturday, January 8th, at Wichita State University.

For those that don't remember the story we ran on Thurman last fall, here's a link.

The game was held at Wichita State University were both Ellis and Thurman hold offers to. Evan Wessel, a teammate of Ellis's is already signed to Wichita State. I receieved word in a text from Perry's mom that Wichita Heights won the game versus Wichita Southeast 66-58 in front of 5,500 thousand fans. I'll search for each of the players stats and provide them on this thread.

From Bossi on Rivals (via twitter) here are Thurman's and Ellis' numbers.

Ellis 25 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block
Thurman, 23 points, 3 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block.

Please hire the guy from Wichita State; he is quietly building a program there. At Wichita Freaking State.

I spoke with Fonda Ellis and she said both Perry and Gavin were amazing yesterday. Both went 9 for 13 from the field. We expect Pery to be a McDonald's All American when it's said and done, but i wouldn't be suprise to see Gavin become a hot commodity this summer.
