Can someone summarize our 2012 commits/recruits?

I went to the recruiting page but it has not been updated. I just wanted to make sure we recruited a point guard...i saw we had 1 shooting guard committed

No point guard. Two shooting guards, and Henry, who is probably a four in the mold of Osby.

did we recruit one of the shooting guards in hopes he will be a point guard? just worried that if grooms gets in trouble or hurt or something we will be hurting with blair at the point and he wont even have a backup...i like to keep three pg's on the roster

hornbeak is a little bit of a combo guard ... but both guys will be wings ..

Doubt there are many teams out there that have three true pg's. We'll have two next year, and then we'll have guys like Hornbeak and Newell that could play it if necessary.

don't forget Pledger, Caple started Pledger at point in a game or two. Talk about a fast pg.

I don't think fans should worry about pg. In my opinion, OU is very solid at pg right now. They have what appears to be a very good strater in Grooms and an experienced and respectable backup in Blair. It is rare for teams to have that. I thought OU had a good back up with Leary but some disagreed.

Think back to OU's last two final four teams and tell me who the backup points were. I would contend they were Mookie Blaylock (the starting sg) and Hollis Price (the starting sg). The 88 team played Terrance Mullins a bit and the later team played Blake Johnston a bit but neither team really had a backup pg.

It's 5 a year, 8 every two years still, right?

If so, how many scholly openings do we have?

I thought the NCAA eliminated those rules years ago and a team could sign as many players as they had available scholarships. Of course, I could remember this wrong or it could have happened and then been changed again. It is pretty difficult to keep up with all the nonsense of the NCAA.

I think you are correct.

I have to compliment the guys that run this site. I didn't know much about Woodard and started to ask. Then I remembered the site had a recruiting section. They had a small write up, a video clip and links to Scout, Rivals and ESPN rankings.

This is a really good site and it is free. I really appreciate the work you guys put into this site. Thanks

Much closer to M'Baye's mold that Osby. In fact, mimicking M'Baye would be great for Henry once he gets on campus.
