Two questions. Has rivals.com ranked the big 12s 2013 recruting class yet? I couldnt find it. Also, I wonder if Booker has been added to Scouts 2013 recruiting rankings. I dont follow recruiting that closely. I did see that scout ranks all schools. Here are where the big 12 classes fell for the coming year.

#4 Kansas
#18 West Virginia
#23 Baylor (tied)
#23 OSU (tied)
#29 Iowa State
#47 TCU
#60 Kansas State
#96 Texas (tied)
#96 OU (tied)
NR Texas Tech

I'm willing to bet in 4 years, this OU class looks a lot better than 8th-9th in the Big 12. Woodard and Booker are going to be big parts of what we do for the next 4 years. And JUCO's never get the credit they deserve, recruit rankings-wise.

I agree. However, I'm pretty sure Coach Kruger has a top-10 recruiting budget. If that's the case, then starting next season I'd like to see even a "paper recruiting class" ranked much higher than 96.

Don't count on it.

Hammond is a 3* kid, and Omega Harris (our other top target, I would think), is also just 3*'s. We may not have another scholarship to offer. Those two alone probably aren't going to make for an impressive class in the rankings.

Kruger didn't sign top recruits at UNLV either.

Oscar Bellfield, Justin Hawkins, Carlos Lopez, Brice Massamba and Darris Santee all played big roles for him and were all three-star players.

He signed one four-star, Anthony Marshall, and he's been a good player there.

He makes his hay with transfers.

Derrick Jasper (Kentucky), Quintrell Thomas (Kansas), Chace Stanback (UCLA), Mike Moser (UCLA) and all kinds of JUCO guys.

I think in time he'll land some 4* HS kids, but probably not in 2014.

Krugers recruiting will eventually fall in line with the majority of players Sampson recruited while at OU and Eddie Sutton recruited to OState. More D-1 transfers than either and more juco transfers than Sutton but more HS players than Sampson. Very few McD AAs and more 3-4 star level players, whether they be HS, prep school, or Juco/D-1 transfers.

We just landed 4 stars Hield & Hornbeak last year & Woodard was a 4 star after his junior season before playing injured his senior season!!

As you keep saying WT we just have to add a couple bricks in the wall each season.

Depends on your definition of much higher. If you expect OU basketball(regardless of coach) to be up with KU, you will be sorely disappointed.Ou in its entire history rarely gets highly recruited kids.

I have been a Sooner hoops fan since the Dave Bliss era and bluechip hoopsters are seldom Norman bound. The pnly heavily recruiteds kids I can recall OU landing were Tisdale ,Webster,Humphrey,Blake Griffin. We have some fringe bluechips as well ; Mc Calister,Lavender, Sallier.OU at its best usually is a top 20 fringe class. This classes usually include a star player like Tisdale (local stud) and complimentary juco and Top 100-150 guys. OU has always had basically an unlimited recruiting budget but we are NOT a basketball school.

To change that OU needs to not only sellout every season (which we have done several times thanks to the Donor points system) but actually fill up the LNC on a regular basis. Then put together streak of multiple NCAA tourney teams littered with Final Fours,Elite Eight type teams. In other words we need to do with OUr men, what Sherri has done with the women.

UT probably moved way up since Scouts rankings because they had 2 big 4* commits I believe.

Rivals only has Top 30 (updated April 17):
#2 KU
#23 OSU
#26 WVU
#27 ISU

Surprised Baylor isn't on there.

24/7 Sports Rankings (Updated daily)

If they didn't have a ranking because it was only top 30 or whatever, I just didn't include it for that team.

Hopefully WVU gets a better season going because we need them to be good for this conference

#1 3.25 KU
#2 20.66666667 Baylor
#3 21.25 WVU
#4 24.5 OSU
#5 35.25 ISU
#6 43.66666667 TCU
#7 55.33333333 UT
#8 58 KSU
#9 80.5 OU
#10 NR Tech

Woodard was never a four star and his playing injured has nothing to do with the drop. These evaluations are based off AAU.
