2025 - 2026 Coaching Carousel

You know we have it bad with Porter but they had it worse.

I would probably expect Capel to get fired as soon as their season ends.

Not sure how they had it worse. They just didn’t put their fans through the misery of a fifth season. Heck, didn’t even let him finish his fourth. Credit to them. It’s not like KSU is swimming in money, but they did what’s best for the program rather than waiting around.

The Tang buyout is much higher than for Moser. We have no excuses. New AD is either competent or he is not.

If you have an $18M buyout, you better keep your nose squeaky clean. Your employer will find any way and every way to get out of paying $18M.

Btw, his comments and coaching obviously are the main reason they fired him, but don’t discount the way fans expressed their feelings. That is why I have no issues at all with OU fans booing Moser.

If Tang has brought "public disrepute, embarrassment, ridicule" to KSU, why haven't we heard about it prior? I smell BS...this is going to court. OU better not pull this nonsense. It's unethical. Don't blame the head coach because the AD was a dumb@$$.
Their claim is that his comments after their game earlier this week are what violated his contract. I think they’ll have a hard time prevailing on that and it’ll likely end in a settlement, but that’s why you haven’t heard anything till now — it’s based on something that just happened.

Thanks for the reply. As such, I found out exactly what he said. I'm no attorney, but if he takes this to court, I'm near certain he'll prevail. I agree with your take that it will probably end in a settlement...but can't see him walking away with much less than $10 million.

  • "These dudes do not deserve to wear this uniform."
  • "There will be very few of them in it next year."
  • "I'm embarrassed for the university, I'm embarrassed for our fans, our student section. It is just ridiculous."
  • "They don't love this place, so they don't deserve to be here."

Not exactly "Woody Hayes closelining an opposing player" type material here.

I think this will end in a settlement. Both sides have reason to fight for the buyout and also have reasons to want this resolved. I kinda want to see this go all the way but they will both want this to be resolved quickly.
