2026 Transfer portal

I agree on all fronts here. Sina & Lee Lee will be very impactful next year. Honestly, don't count out Vienna. Finally, we will have some depth back and clearly this style of play needs it to help with the Discipline. It helps when you can actually sub someone out when they are going off the rails. I do feel our biggest flaw last season was taking bad shots...felt like turnovers most of the time. Chavez will be a year older and we'll see if she can grow like Zya did from her freshman year. I think she is a smart player and can grow. Losing Zya will hurt on the defensive side for sure...but she took a lot of questionable shots as well.

The other big weakness of this team last year was outside shooting. Let's hope the new players will help with that.

1 athletic post that can run the floor will help and a big thumper to help rebound/defend vs. a big center. Are there any big True scoring Centers in the SEC to worry about next season?
Vann wasn’t that great defensively especially when she played the more athletic guards she was bad. So everyone saying we might miss her defense is way off base.

Penn State's 6'6" girl Gracie Merkle is still available, so is Addy Brown and there's a 6'3" girl from Marquette that was listed as one of the top portal prospects also. I'm sure there are several girls with height not listed in the top portal rankings that are still available and could give us a good 6-9 ppg and good minutes to spell one of our starters. Heck there could be a diamond in the rough somewhere still if only our coaches dug past the ones everyone else wants and pursued them. I think depth off the bench will be key next season. We are loaded with tall guards, no we need depth at the 4/5 position, which we have zilch of right now. Fingers crossed they aren't done yet!
Gracie Merkle to Minnesota

Pretty good at stealing the ball but sat on the bench a lot in foul trouble against athletic guards. Texas will improve her defense

Actually in the highlights I saw I thought Murray could be the best of the incoming frosh. She has a nice outside shot and jumps well which contributes to a nice mid-range game. I too felt that Vann was not as good on defense or offense against the better teams. Her inside and mid-range game against the weaker teams was excellent but not so much against the top teams. I believe Murray was selected as the best in Minnesota. I only saw 3 on 3 highlights for Sina and was not blown away. Maybe there are better highlights out there. I will look for them.

I wasn’t blown away either and the SEC if way tougher competition. Time will tell and hope I’m wrong.

it's hard to know with european players, their defenders aren't as quick as over here, so you just never know. I haven't seen highlights of either Bell or Murray to form an opinion, just going off of their recruiting ratings/scores.

still in need of height to defend those SEC bigs. hope for goodness sakes we don't have any issues with injuries or foul trouble for the 2 forwards we have, otherwise it could be a glaring weakness opponents take advantage of game after game.

I was impressed with Bell.

What it’s Smith’s true position? Can’t really be a guard but that’s where they play her.

I think Vienna Murray and Alliyah (Leelee) Bell will be the immediate impact freshman coming in. I think those two can get a LOT of playing time. Both are extremely good, can score and play defense. Sina Im not sure about tbh. I think her it will take time. But I fully expect Leelee and Vienna to make a immediate impact right away.

This is for people who think we failed in the portal. If you think not paying this amount for somebody that doesn’t even fit our system is failure, you need to rethink what success looks like.

We did the same thing and she shot us out of games, respectfully.
Crooks will help OSU. Big 12 is easy.

Not sure why JB was so set in getting crooks.

With the offense she runs, I would think she would like and need to get a faster and more mobile center.

I never saw anywhere that we were actually connected to her. A lot of speculation but nothing confirming interest. I really think she is looking for more mobile centers than what we had with Beers. I think we will be fine with Stewart and Bell as our centers next year.

And she also shot us to a Win over South Carolina who absolutely destroyed us the year prior.

Bro it’s fine if you don’t like Aaliyah that’s absolutely your decision but I’m tired of you acting like she’s the only one at fault and these little digs you always come with. Zya Vann, Payton Verhulst, Sahara Williams, Raegan Beers, and Jennie & Co were ALL at fault as well, even more so because they’re upperclassmen who should know better.

And yes Aaliyah made mistakes, freshmen mistakes, that she needs to correct but My God lay off Bro, she like all of our Freshmen deserve a little grace their first time out regardless of their acumen.
