3 of her Virginia teammates have withdrawn their names from the portal and decided to stay, including star player Kymora Johnson.

Yes. Also, Virginia just hired Kelly Rae Finley, former Florida head coach, as their associate head coach. They're doing some good things. I wonder if they're trying to convince Smith to return.

No word on her taking her commitment back. But somebody in here said she did say she was coming before and backed out. Maybe last year? But no, as far as the team knows, she’s still committing.

I think we will be good if she does go somewhere else. Good portal additions, good incoming freshmen to go with Chavez, Williams, Stewart, etc.

I understand that...not an idiot...I've actually coached HS as well. I'm saying some of the "green light" situations need to be narrowed down. Ya. I've watched prob 80% or more of our games. There were plenty of times that Chavez or Payton would come down and just launch a 3...without more than 1 pass...usually a 1/2 or 3 type situation....we didn't have the numbers no rebounders.

They won, made it to the S16 game...but IMHO, without some discipline in some of those situations, we'll be hard pressed to get much past S16 or E8. Also need to really cut down on the TO's...haven't looked at numbers this year but sure it's avg 16/17/18 a game. Guessing 4-6 are just really boneheaded mistakes; passing lanes, angles, etc. All correctable but didn't seem to see any changes as the year went along.

Again, just my own opinion...which is what a message board is for.

That’s her style of play. It’s not for everyone. But we don’t have the talent to be much more than a sweet 16 team.

i agree on the talent, but I think we could have a little more improvement , just my 2 cents

I loved Payton and her game/leadership...hopefully one of the new transfers can fill that role.

Not sure what you’re trying to say? I’m not concerned about it. Other people are wondering if she backed out like some of her current teammates have.
