#6 OU vs Kansas City 8pm 11/12

Wow it's a one-point game after one quarter...I think we have committed about 10 turnovers already. Either they are tired or they just are not motivated after playing against UCLA. We don't watch out this could be tricky.

Chavez has looked way better tonight offensively. Seems like Jennie is using this game to play the younger talent on the team. She has been rotating a lot in and out.

There was a TON of subbing tonight and I think that was for 3 reasons:
1. Letting the freshmen/sophomores play and impact games before they are decided
2. Seeing different combinations/letting people play and guard a variety of positions
3. Were in the middle of 4 games in 6 days and Jennie wants to keep people as fresh as possible

Aaliyah’s shot is starting to fall.

Chavez found her comfort zone tonight and looked like the #1 player in her class. A really efficient 29 points on 13 shots (7-10 from 3) and 2 perfect trips to the free throw line.

Give Kansas City credit they were undersized but really quick and scrappy. We tried too hard in the first quarter to get the ball inside and forced passes and threw several away…8 turnovers in Q1…but we adjusted and only made 7 the rest of the way. As noted above Jennie played everyone and cut down on minutes for everyone but Aaliyah…she played 34 minutes as Jennie let her get experience and confidence tonight.

Lofton is going to be an elite defender. I assumed her offensive game would be more polished based on her rankings. Maybe she still rusty from her injury.

I thought the freshman played really well tonight. Chavez needs to work on defense and Lofton needs to work on offense. Tolan just needs to catch up after the slow start from her thumb. Brooklyn just needs more minutes. I’m really impressed with her. I think she is the most rounded of the four.

I was very impressed with Brooklyn Stewart hope her minutes increase Culleton is a great teammate and leader but very limited athletically
Me as well. The more she plays the better she’ll be. I see her minutes increasing soon. I’m sure they’re still learning things we don’t see as fans.

Still a work in process but I see some good things. Most of all the great night by Chavez. She will not hit 7 of 10 treys often but a good demonstration of how she is capable of scoring. She is over 18 points a game with two of the three difficult field goal shooting games. Also she continues to pass well and I saw some really good change of pace moves last night.

Stewart continues to grow and Lofton showed up last night. She and Tolan are good defensive players which makes them valuable depth players even thouth Tolan has shown no offensive game to date. She does seem to be solid otherwise and maybe there is offensive capability there that we just havn't seen yet. Missed the short period Daffa played so still waiting to see what we have there.

Great improvement IMO from Sahara. Much more controlled but playing with great intensity. A little undersized to play in the inside but a tough lady. I see now why they place her on the 3 on 3 teams.

I am also impressed with the improvement from Cullerton. I was hoping she would go to the portal and Johnson stay but that didn't happen but Beatrice has slimmed down and playing a solid game. I thought she handled herself pretty well also against the UCLA bigs. She is limited athletically but has the experience to make up for that somewhat.

Agree on chavez and stewart. Love both. Another kid that oozes potential the more i see her is loften. Guys, she might be special

Never know whether kids in college will maintain the singular focus it takes to be great as they find social, school and relationships but for right now they look so promising. It is exciting

Lofton is playing out of position, so I imagine that’s a big adjustment for her to make. I think she’ll get better every game she figures it out. I also see she’s guarding the opposing teams best players and doing it good. She’s special.
Stewart is also going to be special. Length and quickness getting down the floor will get a lot of points for us. And a lot of blocks.
The system doesn’t look it, but it’s very complicated. If you look at the details on offense, you’ll see every player has an action but there’s no play calling. This usually take a full year to grasp, and we’re throwing the young ones to the wolves. Which is great but also requires patience to see their best.
