Lets wait to see who replaces Alondes.
Al may have picked up something in Bangladesh or where ever he went the last time.Wow. Just listened to the interview... I can't believe how choppy, unprofessional, and awkward Al is. Bet Moser was elated when that was over..

It’s kind of sad. When I was in middle and high school (1996-2003), Al was the ultimate OU Insider. He was always in the know when it came to football and basketball. When Dean Blevins came on the air and said Bob Stoops took the Florida job in January 2002, Al said it wasn’t true and that reassured me because he was so trustworthy back then. He’s gone from program insider to a total joke now.
Al has been an embarrassment for nearly 30 years now. He was great when I was a young kid growing up in Norman in the 70s and early 80s. IMO he started to lose it in the early to mid 90s - I thought His pairing with Traber was a bad influence on him in every way (constant boozing, talking about stupid sh*t all the time, etc.) - and I can’t believe he still alive to be honest. Rooting for him to live longer than Prince Philip though.
I’ve always liked the idea of Alondes Williams more than the player Alondes Williams. I always expected him to be more than he was… But I do think he would helped this coming year and it’s too bad that he’s apparently decided to move on.
If we get Harmon back along with Harkless, Hill, and Gibson, that isn't a bad core returning. I would like to see Manek back just to have experience back too but it's not like he's irreplaceable either. Williams seemed like a good athlete but wasn't that consistent on the court.
I'd be extremely shocked if Manek is back. From what I understand, he's gone.
Most recent interview with Moser sounded like we had a good shot at retaining Brady. Have you heard differently?
Let's just say he's not been at any of the practices that Harmon and everyone else have been at, at least from what I was told last week.
Weird. If he were going to play professionally, you’d think he would still practice with the team to stay fresh.
When I was a kid growing up in OKC back in the early 80's, I use to listen to Al every evening. I always loved when he discussed Sooner sports, and he was by far the most knowledgeable and connected Sooner sports personality around. I also won countless gift certificates playing his Friday night trivia game he did on air. My dad bought me a huge encyclopedia sized sports trivia book, and I could always speed thru it and find the answers to his questions...lol
At some point he really left the rails, and it seems he joins Traber in just collecting checks without knowing much about any sports anymore. I often cringe when people call in asking basic, easy to find sports questions about current events, and Al and Traber have no clue what's going on.
I remember a few years ago I saw some very disturbing comments on Twitter about the reasons why Al takes so many trips to foreign countries most people aren't dying to visit. I have zero knowledge if the accusations made against him are true, but it has always stuck in the back of my mind when him and Traber spend hours discussing Al's most recent trip to some 3rd world country....
Like him or not, Al was a pioneer in Oklahoma Sports Radio. I used to listen to him on KTOK every night. He would have Switzer, Tubbs, etc. on his show and it was awesome. Now, father time and hard living have reduced his credibility to zero. Sad really but it's true.
