Championship game of Ball Dawgs Classic. TV on FloCollege.

Duke is very athletic with 5 McDonald’s All Americans…the most talented team we will play in non conference…but no dominant post player so they will likely front Beers and depend on weak side help to defend her. Good passing should get her open looks or inside out open 3s for us.

I checked on two WBB power ranking websites and one has us as a1 point favorite and the other has us as a 1 point underdog. I think we are still adjusting to playing with Beers so this game will be a good test of our chemistry.

If we play Good defense, not turn the ball over so much and score early and quickly I think we’ll be alright. I can’t wait for the matchup. I hope Jennie has a Good game plan against Duke and for Beers. Because we know they will be doubling Beers and make her work for her buckets.

Hopefully making 3’s will help… nothing wrong with a 10’ jump shot either….if beers is doubled/tripled
 
I feel like we should win this one, IF we play within ourselves, meaning not turning the ball over every other play and also playing tougher defense. We have the better offense, so it'll probably come down to that. They have some very athletic, dynamic players so it'll be an interesting matchup that I'm sure we'll learn from. I really hope we win, as it'll continue to send the message that this year's OUWBB team is legit!

Down 27-20 after Q1…we have to improve our defensive pressure…too many easy shots for Duke
 
I figured with 5 MCD AA it would be tough. We really don’t seem in control a lot… just my simple observations but we get stuck if we can’t run/gun.

Just noticing how far off we are defensively when guarding… duke is way up in our faces.
 
What is the big difference between the teams? Is Duke more athletic, quicker or that much better defensively?
Has OU hidden some defensive problems by simply rolling over their opponents so far?

All the above. We struggle in half court sets…. Big time.
We get lazy with passes, etc.
I’ve coached hs ball/ girls…my sis played D1..
I look at little things…how we pass, dribble, etc…
I’ve always thought we’ve been a little lazy or whatever with those little aspects.

Just my two cents
 
Duke hasn’t scored for 9 min… still lead by 15… sad.
