#9 OU vs #23 OK State Paycom Center 3pm 12/13

This! Ima be fall to my knees when Sahara senior year hits…

I don’t mind Zya having the ball. I fear some teams in conference play will probably have Aaliyah doubled with them knowing she can light it up offensively. So I hope Jennie and her team is prepared for those type of games. Those are the games Zya, Payton will have to be involved a lot more offensively. We know Sahara and Raegan will be involved.
Yes. That’s all I mean. Both are great with the ball, but the scouting plan will be to double Chavez. I was very impressed with the team last night.

Zya is soooo much better than last year, more than I expected for sure. And Caya Smith also a really nice surprise, she barely played last year, i didn't realize it but this kid can flat play. She's fast, smooth with the ball, and a good shooter she can hit the 3. Next two years will be huge for her, and Stewart is really becoming more comfortable and showing what she can do. At the expense of CUlleton's minute4s, which is too bad for Bea but good for the team overall. She probably won't because she's already 18 or 19 but if Stewart happened to grow a couple on inches she would be an absolute beast inside.

Smith is an athlete for sure. She’s not a good ball handler but they don’t need her to be. I’m most surprised with her passing. Thinking she played football before. Sign her with the boys!

Baranczyk is always poositive in the press conferences. I think that is one of the reasons players like to play for her. I think Zaya has improved a lot but I would like for her to look more for other open players rather than force shots. She is good at that but at times I think her main motive is to outscore Chavez. This game Chavez started looking to dish off more and 6 assists.

They both have been doing that, but to be fair, Chavez didn’t have a choice yesterday. She was getting pummeled. I did see a moment they made a play together off defense and both ran to each other. That’s what will be really good! I would think this is normal with two ball dominant guards. An upperclassman won’t usually defer to a freshman and I get it. Especially when you’re just as good. They’re both competitors and once they figure out how great they can be with each other, they’ll be one of the best backcourts in the country. I can definitely see it.

Not sure we're remembering the same play, but on the one I saw they did more than run to each other, they actually did a chest bump and embraced. I was really glad to see that. If they can play together and compliment each other, they will become a pair of dynamic guards. No offense, but let me remind you, Zya is not an upperclassman.

She’s older and that’s still normal. Agree though.

Anytime you beat a ranked team by 22 points is a good win. Thought our defense was the best of the season so far. My only criticism is that we not do a great job of help defense at times. At times all you have to do is take a step to check the penetrating player and they stop. We don't do that enough leading to layups when the player could be stopped with a check.

Offense was sporatic. At times it looked like street ball and other times a smooth machine. Too many turnovers, not because of the number but because of the type. Our game depends on the downcourt pass but too many times we tried passes with almost zero chance of connecting. And if we did the recieving member would have had little chance to score. Others were travels trying to get off highly contested shots. The problem with us taking so many hard shots is that there are open players with a better shot and we are not looking for them. Seems at times like we are in an internal contest to see who will score the most points.

Good overall game by Chavez. Liked the assists and her mid range game. Has to hit a higher percentage of treys. She has the ability. Terrific game by Williams. Most improved player on the team. Also think best game by Stewart. Smith still progressing.

Would liked to have seen more minutes for Lofton. Concerned she is going to go portal if she doesn't get more time. We need her to be ready for conference play.

With a more consistent offense we should have beat this team by at least 30 points.
Hoping the 3 newcomers JB signed will all be better than Lofton.

Umm saying this about a freshman that is still not even 100% healthy is weird. Some of yall need to realize Keziah didn’t play much basketball last year, keziah just started playing a few months before arriving on campus. And I don’t even think she was even fully playing like she is use too, i do know she on minutes restriction the few months she was playing before arriving on campus. She most definitely is one of if not the most athletic guard on our roster right now. Keziah is just having a hard time right now trying to figure things out, and yes they definitely have Keziah doing a LOT off the bench when she does goes in. I notice when she goes in Jennie is ALWAYS screaming Keziah name. Jennie has mentioned multiple times that Keziah is Good and very coachable. Jennie has her doing a lot for a reason she isn’t great offensively yet but on defense she does pretty well. Jennie knows she is a good player and is trying to get her there.

I remember Vann struggling a bit as well last year. She picked up towards the middle of the season and looks phenomenal this year. All Of that without the mental struggle of a bad break, and the no season. The system there is hard! I am still trying to understand it in JB’s 5th year. It really frustrates me when fans say things like this. Tells me they never watched and just hoped what others said is true.
