#9 OU vs DePaul 4:30pm 11/25

40-22 at Q2 under 5 minute timeout. Verhulst with 14 on 4-5 3 point shooting. Only negatives are Beers got 2 quick fouls and 9 turnovers with 4 charges called on us.

48-31 at half. Verhulst with 16 and Skylar with 9. Held DePaul under 30% shooting. We gave up 10 offensive rebounds and made 10 turnovers or it would be a bigger lead. Beers only played 4 minutes in the first half with the foul trouble.
 
72-47 after Q3. Beers finally got some consecutive minutes and scored 8 points in Q3…so 12 for the game.
 
85-62 final…we got up by 30 early in Q4 and then we got really sloppy…we are capable of playing better. Payton 18, Raegan 17, 14 for Liz and 11 for Skylar. Held DePaul to 28% shooting.

Something else that we need to focus on is free throw shooting….15-27 today and we are only shooting 63.6% for the year…that can be the difference in close games.


We play Duke on Wednesday who were much better than KSU in the 1st game of the tournament.

We can’t play like we did today against Duke. Duke is GOOD defensively. Probably one of the best team defensively. And probably one of the fastest and most athletic team we’ll play this season.
I cannot stress enough on the turnovers…

Should be a fun matchup Wednesday. I can’t wait!!

I hope Lexy is ok. 🤞🏽😭
 
What happened to Lexy?? Also I hope we can wear our duke. They play their starters heavy minutes. Guess we will see if our pace and substitution will be effective against a team that plays mainly 5 players.
 
Same opinion as a few of ya…

FT’s. Haven’t seen the stats but man… in know we missed 4 or 5 in a row in 2nd half. That won’t get it with duke, horns, lsu, usc, Louisville …

TO’s same as above. I get the last 3-4 min with subs but we got sloppy… so hopefully the sub rotation takes care of that..

Got fouled (IMHO) ran over going for a loose ball.. leg.. but was trying to walk it out behind the bench
 
I'm actually comforted that we can win a game dominantly despite playing sloppily in so many areas (and having both Beers and Williams being extremely limited by foul trouble)
