#9 OU vs Maryland Eastern Shore 1pm 12/7

I am a typical OU fan, i.e. can't multitask sports. Got my mind on football right now and just check in on the basketball teams mostly. But, what I have seen of the team to this point is a pretty typical Jennie team. She is mixing and matching trying to determine her best combinations and rotations. So far, all of her teams have improved through the year and were playing their best basketball by the end of the year. I would wager we will see the same thing this year. JMO, but this is the best bunch of freshmen I can remember. Love them all. But, they are freshmen and are going to make mistakes. Just the way it is. If you restrict them too much early in the year against inferior talent, you don't really find out what they can do.

I assume it is pretty normal for kids to be more selfish against teams we are going to beat by 70 points. Each possession just wouldn't seem as valuable or important. So, it may be that is a reason for some of the shot selection issues discussed.

I don't know what our coaches would do without fans telling them how to run their team.
You skipped over the parts where we say we’re not the coaches. You don’t have to a coach either to see adjustments need to be made for the tougher games.

I'm a bit surprised this thread is mostly doom and gloom after the MD-ES game. It seemed pretty obvious to me that, coming out of our game against NC St, our focus was improving on the defensive end, and our defensive communication + movement felt MUCH improved (yes, I know the competition was inferior, but it was nice to see). Was the offense less crisp than usual? Sure. But I'm okay with that knowing we spent lots of practice time on defense and were still able to score 90 points. It also felt that, if they really wanted to, Raegon/Peyton/Sahara could take over and get 30 points.

I also think our bench is really coming along. Not sure we beat NC State without Stewart's minutes, and Caya has shown she is really going to contribute all season. Our starting 5 are our best 5 and will be on the floor in crunch time (barring foul trouble), but the bench is improving and becoming more trustworthy.

I think the biggest concern is having the bench ready because they have no choice. There will be foul trouble. They called something like 14 fouls in the first quarter alone. Which was ridiculous both ways. The starting 5 is the best 5 and will definitely be on most of every tough game. Just would like to see them take them out in the 4th quarter earlier, so they our other players can get more minutes learning the system in game situations. Don’t want them looking like deer in headlights because they failed to get them ready. And my biggest concern is an injury. They always seem to come in games like these. I’m very happy with the team this year. Most improved is Smith, and I think there’s a lot more coming for her! And yes, defense is Great thing to work on. It’s improved as well and will be needed soon! Think it’s safe to say we all support the young ladies and coaches. Would also like to shout out Williams and her efficiency this year. You can’t teach her grit but it sure is contagious. At the end of the day, I know the coaches know more than I do.

Fans are allowed to have their opinions on how their team is playing. We are human so it’s naturally going to happen. If you find that a issue then you shouldn’t be involved in supporting a sports team. Anybody will have opinions on a team. Good or bad. Please don’t get booty hurt over what a fan opinions is.

Bashing a player or a team is one thing but having opinions on how “We think” a coach/team/player is doing and not doing or not playing should not be a issue.

Everyone has a right to their opinion. Most of the time, my opinion is that fans, in general, aren't privy to all the information that the coaches have so I take everything fans say with a large grain of salt.
