Really disappointed in Gabby. A model of inconsistency with mediocre defense, occasional offense, consistent dribbling. She just doesnt seem to me to have basketball smarts.
Peyton just had a bad year but I admire her consistent effort to contribute in every way available to her. Good defense every game, didnt insist on shooting when she couldnt hit and played well with others.
KayKay finally got her tendency to foul mostly under control. Consistent scorer and good defender. I was surprised at how easy her shots were to be blocked . Always worked hard.
ViVi the real star of the team. Moves well. Good rebounder, shooter. Efficient and aggressive.
Maddie+maddening. Best all around. The next step for her would be the the league's best.
Supporting cast sometimes supported.

If they were to come together, they might surprise us in the NCAAs. I think they can contend with anyone other than the top four or five.

I suspect that we will see some challenges next year. Nancy will probably not start as a freshman, but will get minutes as Vivi rests (similar to this year). Maddie will probably still be at the #4. I don't see TT passing Gabbi.

But, I wonder if the same #2 and #3 that start the year will be the same that finishes it. I figure we start with the experience of Gioya and Peyton. I think Morgan and Chelsea will push them. If they don't improve, Derica might push them. But, I expect Morgan and Chelsea to be better by March than Peyton and Gioya are now.

Derica turned out to be our only good shooter. I like her play, the way she handles being moved from a starter to a key reserve, etc. We are lucky to have her on the team.

I do hope Chelsea contributes a lot next year.

I'm not sure what to expect from Nancy next year. The big-12 is awfully physical/rough for a player who is more a finesse player.

I think Gioya and Peyton to start the year off starting unless Chelsea and/or Morgan come in ready to play. Gioya will be the go to player next year, unless Maddie elevates her scoring or Gioya has injury problems. If Peyton comes back as player of last year, she'll be difficult to dislodge from starting lineup but if she returns with difficulty scoring, I could see Chelsea or Morgan moving into starting lineup by January if they are playing well.

Gioya being injured and slow to recover this year was one of the biggest hurdles this team encountered. Shooters having a low shooting percentage was another. I think, on the whole, our defense played pretty well this year. But I don't think Gioya will be starting on the bench at all unless, of course, she's injured (fingers crossed she's fully healthy and in great shape!).

I think point guard is wide open. I think Maddie stays at the 4, if she stays. I think Dungee might just start, but it will be difficult. Mulkey gets time, particularly early in the season. Sherri needs to see what she can accomplish right off the bat.

I could see serious shake-ups or more of the same crap from this season, really.

Any player who can be consistent in games should be the starter. We had way to much the last 3 years of up and down effort, fundamentals, and adhering to the game plan. Start and give playing time to those players whether they are the best or not.
The other players might come around, but I would rather be consistently good, with great effort, than occasionally really good, and just as often kinda bad.
