Aaron McGhee, Ebi Ere together again at LNC

I will never forget the Ebi smile when I asked him about the new pronunciation of his last name.

He is a mess and was glad to see him do so well at OU.

My memories of that team and season are still very clear. Was a hell of a ride.

Growing up the Final Four was my favorite sporting event to watch, and then to actually get to go there and see OU in this one was so surreal. Then to have the expectations that they were definitely going to beat Indiana and get to that title game.

I have never been more sick to my stomach after a sports team loss than after that game (I was too young to be that emotionally involved in the '88 title game loss). Immediately sold my tickets to Indiana fans and got the hell out of Dodge.

Anyway, enjoyed that article linked above. Loved watching those guys play.

The loss to Indiana wasn't as heartbreaking as the loss to KU in 88 for a couple reasons but still was hard to take. I was there and made the mistake if NOT selling my tickets for the title game. I remember nothing from that title game but I spent the rest of my time in Atlanta rehashing the game against IU. The 2 phantom fouls on McGhee. Q's ankle injury. Sampson's decision to redshirt Gilbert finally coming back to haunt us when Aaron was fouled out. We were the better team and just didn't get it done. I was also at the game vs Maryland at LNC and we would have given them a real run for the title.
