does he look like someone that could give us some minutes and be a scrapper and grab some boards

also how bout hardrick. did he play. pretty said if no

I think CJ ends up with the majority of Ahmed's minutes. CJ and Tyler will battle for minutes this year in my opinion and Tyler's versatility might give him an edge.

As for the second part, if you're a sophomore and you're still getting DNPs, it's pretty self explanatory.

You're probably right, DM, but were talking about (in Blair) a kid with a full season of Div. 1 under his belt…and he played pretty well, even if it wasn't against top level opponents. In my opinion, there's just got to be something else at play here (could it be that he's being disciplined?).

am i missing something? blairs a pg right?

Something is wrong with Hardricks leg(s). He can't jump at all. He was the only big guy during warmup drills not dunking. He seriously may not have a 10 inch vertical.

As for Ahmed I think he will be a decent player. He needs to bulk up and get used to playing, but he could easily be as good as Longar was IMO

Disagree somewhat. It depends quite a bit on the situation.

In Hardrick's case in particular, I don't think there's anything new here. The guy just isn't a Big 12 player, and may not be a D1 player in any conference.

In some ways he could be better than Longar. I think they're comparable athletically but Ahmed is much more basketball skilled. He has really nice touch for a big his size from midrange based on the times I've watched. Like Longar I expect him to be a bench/role player the first few years then a key factor his junior and senior seasons.

My bad. When DM mentioned a player being a sophomore and still not getting playing time, I assumed he was talking about Blair. After re-reading the entire thread, I realize he was not making reference to Blair.
