Honestly, the Nebraska game will be the one that got away. Arizona State was what it was. We just played terrible on both sides of the ball. Bad effort. The Nebraska game we could and should have won.

I agree. The Nebraska game may be the one we look back on and wonder “what if…”

OU also has 3 guys in the SEC top-50 for individual player ratings in EvanMiya:

24. Nigel Pack
29. Mohammad Wague

Nigel Pack is rated as 5th in Offensive BPR in all of the SEC.


It is funny looking at the OFF and DEF Eff for the games on the top right.

Arizona St, we laid an offensive egg.
Nebraska, we lad a BIG defensive egg.
Gonzaga, we got shut down.

Davis being that bad defensively is another example of why I’ll never take anything Moser says in the preseason seriously. On a bad defensive team, Davis isn’t even among our top few defenders

The posters who were mocking people for questioning Davis and Reid and JN (specifically, their shooting) … I wonder what they think now. Those three are a combined 20-85 from three. And Reid is the one who is actually pulling the percentage up based on a recent hot streak. We do so many other things well offensively that it’s frustrating to waste that many possessions on low percentage shots by Davis and JN in particular. I mean, Davis has made two more threes than I have, and his free throw numbers indicate that’s not just a fluke.

I could be wrong, not sure who was pro-Davis high level shooting abilities. I thought he was our junkyard dog guy? Big jump from SO to JR year, but his 10% 3 is more regression. He isn't really high volume anyway.



Derrion Reid isn't awful based on (at least my) expectations.



He has seen higher marks in 3P%, eFG%, FT%, and scoring. So happy with him so far. I wasn't sold on a guaranteed starter spot for him, but he has been serviceable with such a high volume increase.

Davis is still only taking 2 3-pointers per game. Reid seems justified in his 4.8 per game, but would like less.

Well when I suggested a few games into the season that those three guys shouldn’t be shooting nearly as much as they were, our self-appointed Coach mocked me. I didn’t expect Davis to be a good shooter, I’m just not sure why the staff doesn’t cut back his perimeter shots even more. Two isn’t a ton, but at this point, two threes per game by him is as big of a waste as it would be if Godwin had taken two a game. He needs to realize what his game is and play to that.
