All Star voting

Get ready, CoolM is pretty passionate about Faried. A "do you even watch NBA games" or "that is nonsense" type of post is around the corner.

Ibaka is a better player right now than Faried and it would be/have been silly for Faried to be on All-Star team over him.

Not to mention Faried was a -24 against the Thunder a few days ago and looked completely lost. Faried is perfectly suited for a 6th man position where his size doesn't become a liability. I really like him as a player but an All Star is just crazy.

And yes I do watch the NBA! :)

yes, I am a fanatic for Faried. there's no doubt. and yes it's certainly a dubious claim on my part.

but the point remains that Howard shouldn't be the starter. NO WAY that the Fakers deserve 2 players there ... and no doubt Kobe deserves to be there. But the Linn thing makes it pretty clear the fans don't give a FF who is most deserving. I mean - if I had my way Kyrie Irving would be a starter in the East.

IMO Gasol, Aldridge, Lee - all deserve it more than Howard. But that's me.

I do think the notion that a team 5 games under .500 shouldn't have 2 starting all-stars has merit.

But, this is determined by the fans, so apparently the "yay I'm a Lakers fan let's vote for all Lakers no matter how bad we suck" guys are too strong in numbers.

Always has, always will be a popularity contest......

Guys out for the season hurt, have been picked as all-star starters. LA certainly doesn't corner the market in this.

As long as they keep it a fan vote, rules like the one you & Cool suggested will never happen. Fans but tickets, so fans will continue to be heard. Yao Freakin Ming started in front of Dominant Shaq........

Yea I know Mizzy, I was just saying I can see that side of it. I'm definitely not saying the NBA should change the format because people want to see the big names play. And millions more watched that Yao all star game since he was starting, NBA can't turn that down. Howard as an individual is the clear starting center in the West, it's just amazing you can have two guys who are top players in your league and you can't play .500 ball. But they hired D'antoni, an average at best coach, so it's probably about right.

I agree. Always about the money. On the other point, it's not just the Lakers losing, it's how and who they lose to. :facepalm:facepalm
