All things Blake Griffin thread Rookie Year edition

Re: ** Official Blake Griffin vs the Nuggets Thread**

At the half
Blake - 13 points (5-10 FG, 3-3 FT), 6 rebounds (5 offensive), 2 assists, 16 minutes

Clippers up 54-53

Re: ** Official Blake Griffin vs the Nuggets Thread**

Blake put on a mid range shooting exhibition in the 3rd quarter, looking scary good.

19 points (8-15 FG, 3-3FT), 8 rebounds (5 offensive), 2 assists, in 23 minutes

Clippers falter after Blake is taken out with about 4 minutes left in the quarter and now down 82-71.

Re: ** Official Blake Griffin vs the Nuggets Thread**

Clippers back to their usual suckitude after that win over the Thunder. Kaman still sucks, the small forwards for the Clippers also suck. Eric Bledsole might be pretty prettay prettay good in a few years.

Also Blake is damn good right now, hit about 4 mid range jumpers and finished with a career high in points.

26 points (11-18 FG, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds and 4 assists, in 33 minutes

Clippers lose 111 to 104.

Am I being bias or does it seem like Eric Gordon is going away from Blake? It also seemed like in his attempt to go away from Blake he made a lot of mistakes and blunders. I hope he learns that going to Blake will only make his numbers and looks blow up.

Re: ** Official Blake Griffin vs the Nuggets Thread**

Oh ya, they are HORRENDOUS at that position. Which makes trading Al Thornton to Washington make even less sense.

Re: ** Official Blake Griffin vs the Nuggets Thread**

There were numerous occasions where Eric Gordon was leading a break and had Blake with him but decided to take a pull up jumper or force up a contested layup. Just doesn't make any sense.

Aminu will be there future SF, which in the long run. Al Thorton is not going to have a factor on that win total.

Re: ** Official Blake Griffin vs the Nuggets Thread**

I wish they could find a taker for Baron Davis (unlikely I know) and just let Bledsoe have the keys. I know it's only been two games but he looks pretty good. Time to start anew for the Clips. Cut ties with the Davis cancer

or had blake with great position in the post, but instead of being patient with an entry pass, he just jacks up a three. even blake was dismayed at one point by not going for the rebound that landed between two nuggets only a few feet away. he goes with reckless abandon after every ball, and instead just started walking down court. you could tell he was frustrated.

gordon, statistically, is not that great of a 3 pt. shooter. and came back from the fiba championships thinking he's some great player. what made him so good during that tournament is that he knew where he fit in and played great defense and let his shots come within the offense. now with the clippers and baron out, he thinks he has to lead this team by forcing up bad, selfish shots.

i also don't know what del negro has against willie. i can't believe he hasn't played the last two games with the clippers only having two guys healthy who can handle the ball. baffling all around.

I am not sold on Aminu as a 3, give the other young pieces they have they should've took Gordon Haywood over him. They don't have much perimeter shooting in their young core (Bledsole, Gordon, Blake and Jordan) and need another shooter in their lineup to stretch the court. I don't believe Aminu will be that good of a shooter in the long run.

With the other 4 young players they needed a role player as Blake and Gordon are the two guys you bet on to become the two stars (Kobe and Gasol, Durant and Westbrook, etc) . Both are guys who can be consistent 20+ guys with Blake also cleaning up the glass. Bledsole runs the show while averaging 12 and 8 or so. Then Jordan is the big bruiser/garbage man with 6, 8 and 3 blocks a game. With Haywood you have a great complimentary player to all of them. Knocking down the open 3, and averaging a little over 10 points, he also seems like the type who won't make many mistakes.

He would be able to produce at the SF spot for the Clips this year. They currently have the worst "SF" players in the NBA. At least they would get 13-15 ppg and 5-7 rpg out of that spot. That would follow along with his career averages. AND they would have someone with 4 years experience out there. He averaged 15 and 5 in 2 years with the Clippers. Thats not bad production.

Aminu can barely get on the floor and its not like anyone good is in front of him.

Thats exactly whats wrong with the Clippers... They never have an experienced, core group of players that has been there for a long time. If you have a 12-15 ppg guy at the small forward spot, why not keep him?

***Official Blake Griffin vs the Jazz Thread***

Tips at 8 Oklahoma Time.

Will be interesting to see how Blake does on back to back nights.

I know of a couple internet streams I am planning to try to watch it on.

If anybody is interested post here asking for a PM or shoot me one.

Also this game is 100% road performance Landry Jones free ;)

Re: ***Official Blake Griffin vs the Jazz Thread***

Blake is on fire, hit a fade away jumper in Kirlenkos (sp) face as the shot clock winded down. 13 points and the first quarter isn't over. Clippers up 33-16.

Re: ***Official Blake Griffin vs the Jazz Thread***

Through the first quarter

Blake = 13 points (5-6 FG, 3-4 FT), 7 rebounds (1 offensive), 1 assist in 11 minutes

Clippers up 35-22

Re: ***Official Blake Griffin vs the Jazz Thread***

can't wait to watch the replay. 12 boards already in the first half.

Re: ***Official Blake Griffin vs the Jazz Thread***

Blake just picked up his 3rd foul in half with about a minute left in the half.

Here are his stats at the break
15 points (5-6 FG, 5-6 FT), 12 rebounds (2 offensive), 2 assists in 19 minutes

Clippers up 55-39.

Re: ***Official Blake Griffin vs the Jazz Thread***

3rd quarter = back to reality for the Clippers.

Not entirely sure what happened (OU football "distractions")

15 and 15 for Blake through 3,

Clippers are up 75-73 early in the 4th.

Re: ***Official Blake Griffin vs the Jazz Thread***

Blake has recorded his first foul out of his NBA career with about 3 minutes left trying to get an offensive rebound.

Finished with 16 points (5-10 FG, 6-8 FT), 17 rebounds (3 offensive), 3 assists, 1 stealin 35 minutes

Clippers look destined to lose after a horrible second half.

Re: ***Official Blake Griffin vs the Jazz Thread***

Clippers battle back without Blake and have forced OT at 91-91.

They ended up losing 109-107 in OT. Blake had 16 points and 17 rebounds, but had 15 points at halftime. Not sure why he only took 10 shots.

The Clips got 3 points from Aminu, 8 from Gomes, and 8 from Butler. That SF position is just horrendous for them.
