ttt

Anyone watching Blake vs the Spurs de Mexico?

Re: All things Blake Griffin thread

had a scary fall, but 11 boards in the first half and a buzzer beater. toro de las tablas!

Re: All things Blake Griffin thread

Finished with 13 and 17. Hit a three. Only had one turnover. Clips lose by 1.

Re: All things Blake Griffin thread

he was taught a few lessons about san antonio's 3-pt. offense there in the final minutes. he'll learn to recognize their shooters playing the arc.

I hope he also learned to avoid one of the dirtiest players in the NBA - Tim Duncan. On the fall he took after blocking a Duncan shot with his forearm/elbow, Duncan clearly used his arm to, at minimum, initiate the flip; and then he took a swipe at him as he started elevating for a lob that almost led to another fall. Watch out for TD in the future Blake! I hope you gleaned that from the game as well.

Re: Blake Griffin at Clippers Media day

5 TO's is a bit worrisome.

It is preseason. That is the perfect time to commit a TO. I suspect he is testing the water a bit. I would not worry about him turning the ball over too much until it happens in games that count.

Man...he is worthy of going in the top 5 rounds but i doubt he goes that fast...

Great shooting percentage, scoring, rebounding...only negatives so far are the turnovers and ft %...

Hope to be able to get him in round 6 or 7

Re: All things Blake Griffin thread

Tonight Blake had 24 and 14 against Denver. 7-13 from the field, and nice to see he was 10-12 from the free throw line.

The Nuggets won 100-95.

good luck. i doubt he starts going past rounds 3 or 4. might as well grab him early, his production will be worth it. i just wish i had drafted already.

and i swear the only time blake doesn't hit the floor is when he's shooting free throws. hopefully his body holds up.

Blake Griffin is the best rookie since Lebron

Per Bill Simmons.
Here are some pro Griffin tweets
Love that people are doubting my Blake Griffin pimping. Wait until you see him. Best rookie since LeBron. Even Durant wasn't this far along.

BTW: I thought Griffin was going to be a very good pro. I never expected... this. He's blossomed into a beast. I'm telling you. Just wait.

Here is an article with a lot of good Blake pub as well.

Call me a sucker, call me a fool. I don't care. Griffin cannot be hyped enough. He's already one of the best five power forwards in the league. (I have him behind Dirk, Bosh, Gasol and tied with an aging Duncan.) He would have been the third-best player on Team USA in August had they included him. He's already (A) the best finisher of any big guy in the league, (B) the second-best rebounder in the league behind Dwight Howard, and (C) someone who flies around so recklessly that you constantly worry he might break his leg, his back, his neck … there's just nobody else like him right now. You can't keep your eyes off him.

Re: Blake Griffin is the best rookie since Lebron

Thanks for the Blake updates Sam! I try to watch as much as I can on NBATV, but he plays so late out there in LA, that I haven't seen nearly enough. Have watched the box scores, highlights, and probably the equivalent of one entire game of actual preseason game play. He looks very good. I keep going back to what you wrote the other day - hall of fame.

I can definitely see that. He's further along than Karl Malone was. Further than Dirk was; and as we all know, his work ethic is not going to be an issue. I'm so excited to see him put that franchise on his shoulders and carry it to somewhere north of where it's ever been, that I can hardly wait for the regular season to begin so we can get a taste.

He's Charles Barkley straight out of Auburn with an added 5 inches of length. Wow!

24 points and 14 boards last night.

Here is an article from the LA times.

Blake Griffin has a smashing return to Staples Center court
The Clippers forward has 24 points and 14 rebounds in his first game at the arena since a knee injury last year cost him the season.

He hardly needed something like a remember-me moment.

(Not with his ubiquitous smiling presence in the L.A. marketplace and on national TV in sandwich ads.)

The Clippers' Blake Griffin may not have been playing in the NBA all those months, but he never really went too far away. Still, reintroduction to local fans seemed almost required, considering it was nearly a year since he played his last game at Staples Center.

Done and done.

It came in the first fast-breaking 20 seconds: Baron Davis to Eric Gordon to Griffin, finishing with a tidy dunk Thursday night.

That was merely the appetizer in a dazzling and steady stream of Griffin dunks, sprinkled throughout the night in amazingly creative ways.

The Nuggets held off the Clippers, 100-95, in their preseason game but the buzz was all about Griffin above the rim and crashing to the floor. If there was ever a thought Griffin would hold back after missing all of last season because of a knee injury, well, that was quickly erased.

His new nickname — sorry for the lack of creativity — might have to be Crash. Griffin had 24 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots.

"He likes the hardwood — a lot," said teammate DeAndre Jordan. "It's a love-hate relationship between those two."

Re: Blake Griffin is the best rookie since Lebron

I missed it! What is it?

The one for TNT where he is trying to get on the RV and they keep moving and laughing at him. The Phoenix Suns Gorilla is driving and not paying attention. At the end he runs into a telephone pole. Classic!:clap
