We lost a number of players -- Moser surely didn't show them all the door. I'm reasonably happy with what Moser's accomplished so far in bringing players in, but he failed to convince some key players to remain. I think the jury's still out on how some recruits and transfers will view Moser's system.

You are overreacting IMO. Relationships matter. There were a ton of people (not saying this was you) that said coach thibs on football team needs to go because he didn’t land so and so his first year. You have to give people time to make relationships. Moser hit a home run all things considered. Would have been nice to keep Harmon but that’s really the only big loss. Alondes could have been nice in this system IMO but he’s all unrealized potential. Let’s see what we do with the last scholly.

Unlikely. He wasn't really doing consistently well in Kruger's system. He had his moments, but the last staff really didn't get that much out of him. If anything, Moser's system is built to get guys more shots.

Let's take a look at who left:

Victor-left before anybody knew Moser was coming.
Phipps-same
Harmon-was close to coming back, but ultimately left to join the coach who recruited him. Devion handled it poorly anyway.
Garang--Massive project and Moser probably encouraged him to leave
O'Garro--Lightly recruited project, who landed at a non P-5
Manek--Had good career at OU, but soft and doesn't play defense, doubtful Moser begged.
Kuath--Left before Moser got here.
Williams--No defense, which is Mosers MO, and not a really disciplined player. Moser probably laid it out for him.

If anything Moser is a player's coach who guys would want to stay and play for. I'm impressed with the 4 that stayed.

You seem to worry alot about Moser. Try to relax and enjoy the ride, just a little. You know, it's ok to like Kruger AND Moser. No law against it..

I'm not being negative regarding Coach Moser; I'm being pragmatic. I'm waiting to see how things go. I'm pleased with the transfers he's brought in, but I'd rather Harmon had stayed than have a one-year transfer. I wish Manek were still a Sooner, and it's ironic to see some here denigrating Brady, given that Moser so clearly wanted him (and Harmon, for that matter) on the team.

Meanwhile, a five-star Oklahoma native chooses oswho over OU for reasons no one's made clear (that I've seen) but I suspect that he may have been dissuaded by Moser's system. I expressed this concern -- that Moser's system is more suited to a place like Loyola than OU, that it might not appeal to four- and five-star guys -- before he was even hired, but I will gladly let it go once Moser proves it unfounded.

That ship has sailed and it's not returning to port and perhaps it is best to let it go and look to the future as opposed to rehashing the same hash.

Can you or somebody else explain what it is about Moser's system that supposedly scares guards away? I've not heard anything about this except on this board. Is all this based on the fact that he's been quoted as saying his offense runs through the bigs? I'm not trying to argue, just seeking knowledge. From what i've heard, Moser's half court offense uses lots of screens to try to get guys shots. Lots of strategy and movement. He places a premium on unselfishness and working to get shots for teammates. His team led his league in field goal percentage like 5 years in a row.

A "free" system sounds good until you have 5 guys standing around the 3 point line, dribbling, and jacking up contested shots with nobody to rebound.
