In a way, I hate to see Marcus Smart go. He has easily been the most polarizing, talked-about player in years on this board. While he helped OUHoops.com set a new record for the number of users online at the same time, it largely went unnoticed, and so did an OU win.

On the night of February 8th when OU beat Baylor at home, Smart was beating up (a bit of an exaggeration) on a fat guy in Lubbock. The OUHoops board went from the normal post-game crowd to an explosion of members and visitors that eventually reached a record 715 at one time. We not only broke the record, we destroyed it! The previous record (from my memory so don't hold me to it) was 476.

This is not meant to be another Marcus Smart thread. I just wanted to let members know that we set a new record earlier this month. Too bad no one noticed.

I noticed. It was mentioned by another admin in one of those threads. Look forward to breaking it for a better reason.

we'll set another record once we make the Sweet 16 this year!!!:clap

Since I was the only one who responded to OUHoops' post, it should be easy to see why I assumed it went unnoticed. Besides, I'm the "attention whore" on the staff. OUHoops is more laid back and shy. ;)

i like the shy types

I love seeing the board grow. I hope people stick around once OSU's collapse is complete because we have a pretty fun basketball team ourselves.
