Anderson to Arkansas gaining steam

I dont know what to think of this...

On one hand, it gets Anderson the hell away from Kansas. KU owns this league in basketball, and leaves everyone else to squabble for second best.Arkansas presents a situation where you can be one of the premier programs in the league.

With an entire team coming back, plus a good recruiting class, its a VERY risky move for Anderson. They have a great arena, seem to be able to recruit whoever they want, have Sawyer as a fan, and its a hostile environment in Columbia. They pretty much kill everyone but Kansas in that building.

Im not sure what you could accomplish at Arkansas that you cant at Mizzou.

I don't think it is that risky for him. A move to Arkansas would get him back closer to where he has always done the best recruiting in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida high schools and with Mississippi, and Florida JUCOs. Anderson built his name taking a dismal UAB program to all new heights and from the fifth best school in the state to, when he left, the best program in the state by far on the backs of Florida JUCO kids from PJC, Okaloosa-Walton (now Northwest Florida State), Gulf Coast, and Chipola.

Definitely disappointed. We had final four aspirations and got bounced in the first round after being one of the last handful of teams in the tournament.

Most are still in complete support of Anderson's ability as a coach, though (although there are some tired of what they perceive as him looking for another job every year).

Expectations for this season were based on Mitchell getting eligible and Ratliffe being better than he was (along with the rest of the team being a bit more consistent). Nothing seemed to go our way this season, though.

Curious, but who expected Mizzou to make the Final 4 this season? Especially as an 11 seed?

And not just their fans. A lot of fans and media thought they would be a lot better.

Yeah, I thought they would be better than they were as well.

I just don't remember any prognosticators predicting them to make the Final 4, or come close to it.

Failure to meet expectations does not make the expectation silly. Expectations based on bad assumptions or ignorance are silly.

Mizzou had a recruit that did not meet expectations, other players that did not progress the way that you normally see and another recruit that was not cleared by the NCAA.

Does that mean that the expectations were silly or that the situation changed to that point that meeting expectations became impossible?

Preseason 15 and peaked at 8. This with Tony Mitchell still potentially coming for the stretch run.

Adding a player like that would have made a huge difference.

Speaking of huge differences... aspirations and expectations are not at all the same.

Maybe I presumed too much, but I figured you were talking about expectations although you said aspirations. The way you posted it anyways... After all, every fan base has aspirations of a Final 4. The way you worded it made it seem like you expected them to go, and they ultimately fell short of expectations.

If I was wrong, then my bad.
