Do we still think the current class is done?

Is it 2020 and up only? Seems like we are not hearing much.

2019 will likely get a grad transfer.

2020 Hefner soon maybe, Thompson, many others

2021 trey Alexander #1

Trey Alexander & 4 others are visiting tomorrow. Don’t have premium access to see who the other 4 are.

You get 13 scholarships.

The team is losing:
1. Rashard Odomes
2. Christian James
3. Aaron Calixte
4. Miles Reynolds
5. Jamuni McNease
6. Ty Lazenby

Down to 7 scholarship players. But the team has added:

1. Austin Reaves
2. Devion Harmon
3. Victor Iwukar
4. Anyang Garang
5. Alondes Williams
6. Jalen Hill
7. Corbin Merritt

That would mean 14 scholarship players. Either one of these guys isn't going to make it, or there will be more attrition on the team.

Did I assess that correctly?

Reaves is already on scholarship so they are only adding 6 players. And it is widely believed that since Freeman went through senior day he is not going to be back.

This is correct. OU is NOT over the 13 scholarship limit.

Freeman and polla are likely gone. That will surprise no one.

I dont either but with state playoffs down to 8 teams several have some time to visit and catch OU/KU

Harmons team lost, Victor didnt play this year but worked out, Robinson out, Bijan and Trey most likely will meet in the finals for a 3rd year in a row.

Commits
De’Vion Harmon- OU signee
Victor Iwuakor - OU signee

Prospects
Jaxson Robinson-2021 Ada
Bijan Cortez-2021 Kingfisher
Trey Alexander-2021- HH

Agreed, but this year I see Kingfisher winning by 8-10 if they match up. 4 really good players vs 1 great one. Of course I don't know how many move-ins HH has this year.

I think Kfish wins as well.

HH didnt have move ins. They have Trey and 2 good ones to go along with them. One was the x factor from last year. #12 I think. A few shooters to go around them.

It will be fun to watch.

A lot of dead weight in those additions.

Kingfishers has 2 d1 kids. so they arent hurting... d2 Jett Sternberger and Green kid going to OBU

Bijan and matt stone.
OSU most likely for stone, Brother is pitcher there. Bijan is likely an OSU lean as well.

A lot of dead weight in those additions.

I have strong reservations about Merritt and I understand people's doubts about another foreign player, but who else? They have 5 quality guys that can be contributors from Day 1 & 2-3 probable starters.

A lot of dead weight in those additions.

It is a large recruiting class, and there seems to be a lot of promise in a big chunk of the 2019 recruiting class:

De'Vion Harmon (#36 in the 247Sports Composite Ranking)
https://247sports.com/player/devion-harmon-86619/

Victor Iwuakor (#95)
https://247sports.com/player/victor-iwuakor-46055287/

Jalen Hill (#145)
https://247sports.com/player/jalen-hill-46042032/

I also have high hopes for two of the transfers ...

Wichita State Transfer .. Austin Reaves
http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=211776524&DB_OEM_ID=31000&Q_SEASON=2018

JUCO Transfer ... Alondes Williams
https://247sports.com/player/alondes-williams-46058997/

My expectation is that post players Corbin Merritt and Anyang Garang are "Projects," but who really knows. All we can do is wait and see; and hope for the best. It does appear that there will be a lot quality competition at the guard/wing positions this Summer and Fall.

It's not like we don't have dead weight in the subtractions. Lazenby, Polla (since sounds like a done deal), and I'd argue Freeman too.

Plus Jamuni and Odomes aren't dead weight now, but they were in their first season. I don't think you can expect to bring in 7 players and have them all ready to contribute.

Either one of these guys isn't going to make it, or there will be more attrition on the team.

Possibly both. Obviously there's speculation about Freeman but I also wonder how things are going to shake out with Corbin Merritt. I don't think anyone would or should blame him if he decides to stay close to home.

Clearly the staff believes there will be an open roster spot if their actively recruiting JUCO's Wilfred Likayi and Emmanuel Ugboh.

Well, if we want a better program we shouldn't replace dead weight with more dead weight. Just sayin'.

Likayi is the safer choice between those two, but as we are discussing in the other thread, thats hard to gauge. Ugboh is mean, a bruiser, but is a 50% foul shooter which shows a lack of skill and his numbers aren't great... 12 points and 9 rebounds I think.

Sophomore highlights... 17ppg/8rpg/42% 3pt shooting/78% foul shooting. He gets fouled a lot because he can put it on the floor. Not sure how he translates to Big 12 because he is so skinny. Maybe his shooting and driving ability negates that?

Between Likayi and Kuath we would have two very long, rangy athletes.
