Anyone else not happy with Neal getting 0 minutes?

Good athlete, can shoot, tall. Why 0 minutes for this team?

The guy should play at least 5-6 minutes a half. Its not going to make things worse. It wouldnt have killed the team to bring in Neal when Cade Davis was 1-13 from the field or whatever he was. Or to give Clark a breather or something.

Neal + Clark + Fitz + Pledger + Newell need to be on the court a bunch to give OU more athletes and to get ready for the future.

I am pissed about neal not getting pt. He played very well against Virginia, got the start against Chamindae, but since about the 10 min mark against chaminade he has been riding the pine and i dont get why

Neal really hasn't played much since he got a bunch of points in that one game game a few weeks back. I said this in the game thread. Go with a 3 freshman lineup and get our young guys a chance to see what they can do and grow for the future. We aren't going to win a lot of games with Pledger bricking 3s and Blair turning it over like crazy.

Neal is one of the guys that seems to have a good feel for how to play the game. There is no better time than now to get him some minutes to see how he develops. I think he has a chance to be a really nice player for us. It's not like we have anything to lose at this point...

If the season is scrapped and we're playing to get young players minutes then I'm quite upset that Neal doesn't play much.

The main reason Neal stood out in the Virginia game was he was playing with aggressiveness. This is no longer the issue with the team, the 5 who play the most all bust their tail and compete the problem is the execution, experience and talent isn't there. Adding in Neal would actually downgrade that even more. If one of those 5 aren't competing then yes Neal should play because I'm sure he'll bring that to the table but otherwise he doesn't bring much to a line up.

Me too. No reason for that. Whatever future we have he will be a part. We aren't going to win this year Jeff play everyone besides Hardick.

I am not upset when a player does not get to play. I am upset that a player plays well enuff to start 2 games and then never sees the court again. Is someone else much better on this team? I think not. Newell turns the ball over after sitting forever and gets yanked quickly. Your starter struggles to and does not get the hook. I have no idea what coach is thinking in his patterns. He reminds me of high school coaches who have "no idea" either.

This kid knows the game. Larry Bord couldn't jump and athletic others players but he could play the game. Coach get this kid on the FLOOR!!!!

I don't think anyone is saying Neal should take the place of one of the starters. But I don't think it's too much to ask for 10-12 MPG. Heck, we basically only have a 7 man rotation. Why not add another guy to it, who can shoot the 3 ball, and can give some guys a breather.

Is it talent or other reasons? Some players don't have to earn their time and others don't seem to be able to earn time. Maybe there's more behind this than talent.

i was going to start a thread about this also. its insane not to let the kid at least TRY to do something. he played great against virginia & i think he provides an extra spark off the bench. & im mad thompson didnt get more PT. in 6 min he had a 3 pointer & 3 rebounds? & washington i understand hes not THAT good but when he came in he hustled & snagged rebounds from their big men. im not sure what capels intentions are but that game pissed me off. i was sitting right by then bench & kept yelling for them to play neal. sheesh

Tyler will be a good player for OU, right now he is just too soft. He was in slow motion the games I saw him and wouldn't compete for a loose ball. I think Capel was trying to motivate some ofthe other guys when he started Neal. Now he has gone back to teh other guys to see what they can do. If they don't produce in the next few, expect to see Tyler some more.

Tyler needs to be more agressive and act like he isn't just content with being on the floor. He has the tools to be good, he just has to come out more aggressive.
