Took a look at the Arizona State team. Literally looks like an international team. Kids from all over the world. Wonder how that comes about. Didn't see who is actually playing for them, but the roster has enormous size. Bunch of really tall guys. They average about 80 per game, and as a team, shoot the ball pretty well, including from 3. One of the Hurley kids coaches them. So, they will be well coached. Should be a tough game, particularly on the road.

Odum can fill it up & will be priority #1 on the perimeter. Had 36 vs Texas. Made 6 threes and went 16/18 from the FT line in that game. We really need to run him off the line and contest without fouling or over-helping. He’s a capable passer and great 3pt/FT shooter (44%, 88%) but he’s only shooting 33% from 2.

In his last 3 games:

15/28 from 3: 54%
2/14 from 2: 14%
30/33 from FT: 91%

Massamba Diop is a future pro. Incredibly mobile with some offensive ability at 7’1” and shot-blocking length & athleticism on the other end.

Both teams average over 80 points, so I expect scoring to be up, but hopefully OU’s defense is turning a corner right now.

Obviously poor competition here, but these two videos highlight some of the fluidity, athleticism, & offensive ability from Diop. I do think Wague can give him some problems with his activity though. Diop, like a lot of freshman, can have some lapses in urgency at times.

And here’s Moe Odum vs Texas:

These guys are a terrible rebounding team. We obviously rebounded better than usual against Wake. Let's hope that carries over to this game.
Yep....and ASU's eFG% defense is bottom third in the country primarily because they suck at defending 2-point shots (bottom quartile). And for a really tall team, they get a lot of their shots blocked. They do a pretty good job of drawing fouls on offense, but they also foul a lot on the other end.

I watched the ASU/UT game. They won that game despite getting out rebounded by 12, and only having 4 assists. The ESPN indicator has us at 84% winning that game. I don’t know about that…we will have to play well to win.
