Rumors of KT going to Louisville with Kenny Payne

Now rumors of David Patrick getting the job at Sacramento state

Good grief how do you ever hold onto, get recruits?

Why is that Moser hasn't even been here a year, no NCAA tournament. Two potential coach poaches... Then I look at Self's assistants and they've been there FOREVER. I guess it's because everyone knows they cheat?

Losing Patrick would be really, really bad.

Yep, definitely think AK hits the portal now. Hopefully, Schroeder still honors his commitment, but wouldn't be shocked if he asked for a release from his LOI.

Posted this on TOS, but I think this is the kind of thing that can happen when a coach doesn't bring a staff with the majority of "his guys", or bring in guys that have a great reputation and are HC candidate material in order to bolster the new staff.

Plus, Porter seems like a high-energy intense guy that likes to control the direction of things and his program, and that may not mesh well with all assistants that are wanting more responsibility or autonomy. Nothing wrong with his approach, nor an assistant looking for a different environment.

I suspect we will have growing pains and movement with staff and players until Porter gets his roots and philosophy established in Norman.

If both assistants leave, that concerns me. Especially if we lose any recruits because of it. That would feel like a major setback, far too near for comfort to a return to square one.

I asked those same questions several weeks ago about Porter and his staff. Since that time, I have seen a lot more interaction between all of our coaches. I’m not sure what if anything has changed, but IMO that was a better look than what I had observed earlier.

Mawein? How will we replace his 1.2 ppg?

Nothing porter can do to keep assistant coaches.. you want him to gdt crappier assistants that no one else wants? Im not worried at all, any assistant spots will be filled

I specifically said it'd especially be a problem if we lost any recruits. And I think it's reasonable to be concerned that both coaches are leaving after a single season. If they were such hot properties, perhaps they weren't the best hires. A single year, no matter how good the assistant is, isn't really worth the instability, in my opinion.

Also, the challenge is not just "filling the spots," of course. All assistants are not created equal. When Coach Kruger lost his key assistants, finding worthy replacements proved to be a challenge.
