Baylor vs Texas

I've been surprised at how sloppy Texas is. I thought maybe they played a lot of young players, but they started three Seniors, a Junior and a Sophomore.

Tough being Baylor and #30 isn't your best player.

What's with the poncho? Did Kim leave all her glitter in her locker at the club last night?

Say what u want about Kim's attire but you will NEVER see her sitting on the bench and checking out!! Turn up Alexis!! Sic'em!!

No. You never see here sitting there clapping and hoping it fires the girls up. She gets comments from us because she's successful and beats our ass. I'd trade coaches in a heartbeat.

The only difference in statistics is really turnovers: Baylor 9, Texas 21 at this point. Everything else is pretty similar.

Someone needs to start recruiting the Boyette's kids right now.

Good game. I can believe that they are #4 and #6 right now. They aren't quite ND or UConn good, but that's about all.

Surprised that Texas trounced OSU in Stillwater while Baylor lost, only to have Baylor beat Texas in Austin.

I guess Sherri's invite to championship row was lost in the mail or permanently deleted!

It was a good game. If you taped it, go back and look at Nina Davis all the time. It is likely that she fouls more than any other player in the country. She should be named Nina "illegal moving screen" Davis. And she puts her arms around the arm of her opponent fairly consistently. Just look at the review of that 3 point shot at the 1:14 point of the 4th quarter. She is holding the arm of the Texas defender (from behind) during the shot. That is one key to her getting several rebounds. Not sure why the officials are intimidated by her - but they clearly seem to be. By the way, the officials totally missed on their final decision. It WAS a 3 point shot. I have no idea how/why they missed it.

The officiating was not perfect in the BU-UT game by any means, but they did try to allow offensive movement -as the rules are supposed to be enforced this year. I taped the OSU-OU game and just watched it prior to the Texas-Baylor game. If the OU-OSU game had been called like the game today, OSU would have ended up with 5 players fouled out. You can put the two side by side (if you have 2 monitors) and simply look at similar types of contact - and it would be impossible to argue the two games were called similarly.

OSU beat the stuffings out of our players. Pushed, shoved, threw elbows, etc., etc, etc. Almost never called. That kind of thing was just not allowed today. Letting players mug others destroys offensive capability. The attempt has been to stop the defenders from impeding the offensive players from their movement. That was ignored in the case of OSU. Allowing teams to do that destroys offensive movement and play. It usually results in the opponent scoring in the 40's or maybe low 50's. It makes the women's games hard to watch - and the goal is to get that kind of defensive strategy out of the game. All officials need to get on board or get off the boat.

Most teams have learned to play within the rules. OSU has not. Anytime their games are called correctly, they lose badly. But they know that in certain situations with certain officials they can violate both the spirit and letter of the rules.

Great game....a lot of recruits were at the game and i think they see the difference between a coach who understands what they have and a coach who doesn't have a rotation. Karen is all over the place with her rotation where as Kim knows who she will play all of the time

It was a great game. Jones had a great game. That is a girl who has a great midrange game.

Karen appears to be an excellent recruiter. I would say the jury is still out on her game plan/game day skills.

Agreed. But, if she continues to sign McD AA, they will win at a high level with or without great coaching.

Until they meet up with someone with just as many Micky D's who has better coaching. And sometimes, good talent can beat great talent if the good talent has better coaching.
