The best passer was Alvan Adams.

I find it a little troubling that Tony was the first to mention a guy who "only" averaged 23.4 points and 12.9 rebounds for his CAREER at Oklahoma.

You know, that's 4.5 points and 1.0 rebounds MORE than Blake Griffin's averages.

AA's number was retired in the NBA by the Suns till Grant Hill came along.

He's overlooked because you don't even see highlights of him anymore. None of our games were televised back then. I bet SoonerSports could get a highlight package with him somehow.

I'd like to see Blake Griffin have a game like Alvan Adams had against the Buffalo Braves on February 22, 1977:

47 points
18 rebounds
12 assists

AA was a stud deluxe. Totally underappreciated.

If they did, I would watch it. It would be great to see highlight packages for some of the OU greats of the past.

Hopefully the OU network or whatever it will be called will have a lot of this.

I started filling this out but it got a bit repetitive putting Wayman in every spot :)

Best 3 point shooter is Hollis Price
Best bench cheerleader is Kellen Sampson
Best showtime is Angelo Hamilton
Best dunker is either Hamilton or Helicopter Bell
Best band director is Roland Barrett

I thought Tim Heskett was a good bench cheerleader when not on the floor..

Very, very impressive. Wish I could see some game film of him at Oklahoma.

Um........

I thought it only fair that I name players who I could really vividly recall playing and really watching. I saw Wayman play a number of games but it was a very young kid tagging along with my father and grandfather to the games. At that age I was more amazed when Top Daug would come up our aisle and grab his ears and shake his head. It wasn't until Mookie and Stacy that I had gotten old enough to really sit through an entire game and appreciate what I was watching.

I also strongly considered Jabari Brown; almost single handedly because of his performance against Maryland the year we ran them off the court and they won the title after Quannas got hurt and we choked to Indiana.

I even almost voted for Ace of Wayman in the leaper category but I have seen enough clips of Wayman to know he had the ups. Ace was one hell of an acrobat though.
