Which player(s) can you think of who were better players in college than they were in high school?

Statistically, Gioya comes to mind. She never had mind blowing stats at Carl Albert but did all the little things. Saw her play many many times in HS and I am not sure she had a stretch like she did this past year at the beginning of conference play.

I can think of a great number of football players. But, basketball players all seem to have been stars on their team. Some were not expected to do as well as they did because of where they came from. I think Nyesia and Danielle both were very raw when they came to OU.

Doug English made a statement once something to the effect that a Blue-Chipper is the guy who is fully-grown at fifteen and won't get any bigger, quicker, or stronger. He said the guy that makes it in the pros is often the kid who was a bit awkward until he was a senior or a freshman in college. I'm reminded of John Goodman, recruited as a 6-5, 190 TE, played pro ball as a 6-5, 265 DT for Pittsburgh.

The one that was most this way as a girl that I can remember was Griner. She was not nearly as adept as a freshman as she was later. She became more in control. I wonder if we won't find that with Nancy.
