That is a crock of ****
We kept the baseball tournament though!
Campbest...just noticed your sig. That's a great line.
Remind me please, I've forgotten most of it.Even better story.

I believe OU can thrive without :fexas-logo: and without joining a new mega conference. Sub in TCU and Houston with whats left from the B12 and beef up the non conference schedule in Hoops and FB
Respectfully disagree. I acknowledge that it's hard to complain about basketball tourney in Kansas City, when we get the baseball tournament in OKC every year -- fair enough. But the set up we have in OKC with the Ford Center and the Cox Center being across the street from other for the men and women is hard to beat. Especially with the entertainment district and available parking being nearby. We still don't have the hotel options that KC does, but it is improving.
I think football championship game should rotate (it makes money at any reasonable location), but you knew it wouldn't because Texas ALWAYS has to get a bone in the Big 12.

I think the Big 12 got it right. KC is basketball country, Texas is football country and Oklahoma is a great place for baseball. I think they will maximize revenues with this setup.
I'm trying to remember, which of those sports does KU excel in?
Oh, that's right -- it's basketball.
Could that fact be coloring cheno's opinion?
Surely not.
But it's awfully easy to insist that the football title game should be played in far-off Texas when your team rarely wins the northern division in that particular sport. And it's equally facile to insist that the city nearest your school is "basketbal country," when your team benefits directly by that city hosting the basketball tourney.
Hoopie. They should all be in OKC.
I do think KC supports the bball tournament better overall. I still wish we could have it here sometimes though.
I understand Memphis is a beautiful place to visit in February. You may want to check out the following link.I think the Big 12 got it right. KC is basketball country, Texas is football country and Oklahoma is a great place for baseball. I think they will maximize revenues with this setup.
